CC:Session33: The Great Fall Report

General Summary

Vox marched to the cell where Penance was held. They unleashed a series of questions about the OPD and Boots while Dart stood by for support. As Penance's answers became less and less helpful, alarms set off across the city. The Orion began a rapid descent on a crash course for Kapaska. Finished with Penance, Vox left him with a bullet in his head and met up with the rest of The Agitators.

Dak and Gene looked through the mess of incoming data and determined that The Emissary had started their end game: within 24 hours the city-ship will crash onto the homeworld of the Sun Elves, the Eldai, killing countless individuals. Gene also identified 5 anchor points in The Heart of the Orion which connect the city to the realms of The Abstract. If The Agitators were going to save the city, they would need to destroy or hack all five anchors before heading deep into the heart of the ship. Despite Dak pleading with the party to take Stargazer and flee for safety, The Agitators decided it was time to play the hero.

Full-scale war between The Agitators' allies and the Seraph armies broke out in the streets, and the party met with Kasula Miayra. She explained that they didn't have enough troops to stop the Seraphbut could buy the heros some time. Vox and Vulman stood by as Gene marched up to Kasula Miayra, kissed the princess, and said: "then we will end this war together".

With the opening made by Kasula Miayra, The Agitators pushed into The Heart of the Orion. They quickly snuck past the guards and headed toward the pull of The Ether. Pushing through a legion of vine creatures, they watched as Raven and Anya Keisler led their armies against the horde. Raven looked up to the party and nodded as a horde of Seraph swarmed him. At the top of the tower, Vox came face to face with Rali, their sworn enemy. In a flurry, they surprised the Ma'Kar scientist, cut off his leg, blasted him with flame, and then Vox shoved a grenade in his mouth - and pulled the pin. Vox then hacked the anchor and collected a key to The Ether.

Pressing deeper into the dungeon, they discovered a room of creatures that spread madness - but where unfortunately, no match for Mellow's storm of ice. With the creatures disposed of, they headed into the next tower. Below them, they could see both the Ku'un and Fists of Darkness waging war. As Boots gazed on, a lethal attack was shot directly at him. Shocked by the lack of injury, he looked through the smoke to see that Venom had shadow stepped in front of the blow. Before Venom could say anything too stupid, Boots shut him up with a kiss. Venom looked into Boots eye's and said, "You may need to save this city, but to me, it isn't worth a damn without you in it." After taking a moment in each other's embrace, Venom left the ledge and returned to the fight. Vox then hacked The Void anchor and collected the second key.

With three anchors left and little time to spare, will The Agitators be able to save the city and everyone in it before it comes crashing down?
