Antes people

A select few Analogic tribes after the Fall managed to prosper, banded together with others, and built towns and fortifications around themselves to stay safe. These people, different as they are from each other, developed significantly more sophisticated cultures than the surrounding wilders, enough to be grouped under one classification. "Antes" means before in Romance. They are also called "townies", a mild derogatory term coined by wilders. While it is the one that sees the most use, perhaps a more accurate one would be "town dweller".

Culture and cultural heritage

Civilized Old World humans are absorbed with the preservation of past culture and traditions, to the point where they willingly adopt them as their own. As a result, various towns take after several early human civilizations in their art, architecture and values.

Average technological level

Masonry, advanced mechanics, agriculture and husbandry are commonplace. Most settlements also boast fairly advanced gunpowder weaponry, internal combustion engines and electricity.

Common Taboos

Unlike wilders, town dwellers are sometimes known to not inmediately destroy digital technology they encounter. Rather, they collect and study it, in an attempt to extract its secrets to either learn how to combat similar pieces, or advance their own technology without the digital parts.

Major organizations

The Analogic Civilizations are the closest thing to an overarching government that Antes peoples have, although lacking a capital, a ruler, or any sort of centralized legislative organization the term "government" must be used very loosely. Suffice to say most Antes groups are willing members of the confederation, and abide by the few rules that were agreed upon against the employ of digital technology and any practices harmful to Nature. Otherwise, every town and region rules itself, usually through a local king or democratically ellected official. While the Analogic Rebel Uprising is their "army" through which they oppose the Digital Conclave, not all Antes are a part of it. Some fight independently, either in the garrison of their towns or as individuals, and some have even been seen in the ranks of the Lupin Corsairs.
