Kyl Vestiál
Built upon a hill in the south-western corner of Ëndria, this fortress once served as the home for both High Elves and Wood Elves, but has been thoroughly rebuilt since then. It now serves as the headquarters for the infamous Witcher Order.
History
Kyl Vestiál was a settlement founded in the late 2nd century by a mix of Wood and High Elf families. However, its existence would be short-lived. The settlement was attacked and destroyed by two powerful undead magic wielders, one of whom would later become known as the lich Myriil. After the destruction of Kyl Vestiál, the surviving elves were divided into two groups. Most sought safety in distant lands, while others chose to pursue vengeance against the undead.
Among the vengeance-seekers were the elves of House Syldove. They fled to a nearby hill, where they began the construction of a fortress bearing the name of their lost home—Kyl Vestiál. The fortress rose at an unnatural speed, aided by the intervention of a divine being known as The Veiled Lady. By 2220, the fortress was completed, and The Veiled Lady became the patron of the elves, promising to help them exact revenge on their undead enemies.
Through relentless pursuit and countless battles, often against their own kin now turned undead, the elves eventually fulfilled their goal: Myriil was defeated, and his armies were vanquished. With their victory secured, the elves, now hardened warriors, found themselves without a clear enemy. In response, they founded the Witcher Order, with Kyl Vestiál serving as its headquarters to this day.
