The Weave was once a single point, a pulse in the dark, silent and unbroken. Until, with a shiver, it split. Threads of the Weave spilled outward into the void, stretching and crossing, forming a bed for creation itself. Some threads drifted alone, fading into shadow, but in other places, they gathered together, thickening and weaving larger and larger, until they became the foundations of worlds. So, the realms took shape—The Nine Hells, Pandemonium, Elysium and many more—each born from the restless tangle of the Weave. The last thread slowed, settling around the first point from which it all began. This final realm, Midranor, came into existence, held within a cradle of the original Weave. Life took root, scattered across planes and bound to a single, pulsing point where the Weave still lingers, thick and close as a breath.-Iouns personal notes

On Midranor, life continues its fierce battle against the elements, where nature itself stands as a relentless force against those who inhabit the land. The creatures of Midranor struggle daily, fighting each other for their place in the world. Their connection to the Weave empowers them, a constant yet delicate thread that allows them to harness elements beyond mortal comprehension. Through relentless trials, the people of Midranor shape themselves into warriors, mages, and architects of their own fate, channeling fire, earth, wind, and water as extensions of their will. This struggle against their world and the Weave strengthens them, drawing out talents forged through hardship and resilience as they come to understand the very fabric of existence they are bound to.

Beyond Midranor’s reach, the Gods of the outer planes watch with intense, undying interest. Bound to their own realms, these deities wield the Weave just as those on Midranor do, but their ambitions drove them to seek the realm closest to the Weave’s heart. The Gods themselves attempted to breach Midranor, each seeking to conquer it for themselves in what is now known as The War for Midranor. They charged the realm with all their might, believing their divine power would be enough to claim its core essence, but Midranor resisted. In that fateful war, four Gods met their end, slain in their bid for dominion. Their fall established Midranor as a realm of great power, a place where even the mightiest could be defeated. To shield Midranor from further divine invasion, a great barrier was forged, barring any God from stepping foot on its soil again.

And so, the Gods linger at the edges of the barrier, waiting for the day when the resolve of Midranor’s inhabitants will falter, hoping for a chance to claim the realm’s power as their own. Though bound away from Midranor, the Gods still search for ways to reach beyond the barrier, dreaming of the day they might ascend higher through the conquest of a world that has, for so long, denied them.
