Witcher Order

The Witcher Order is an organization of elite bounty hunters, renowned throughout Ëndria for their relentless pursuit and eradication of the undead. While their primary mission centers on vanquishing the unholy, they also respond to various spiritual disturbances, hauntings, and cursed afflictions—for the right amount of coin. Founded in the year 2220, the Order arose from the ashes of tragedy. The once-elven settlement of Kyl Vestiál —now their fortress headquarters in the southwest of Ëndria—serves as both home and sanctum to the Witchers. It was here that the first Witchers were forged by the guidance of a mysterious and revered figure: the Veiled Lady, a divine patron cloaked in secrecy and sorrow.   The Order is structured to maintain a delicate balance between autonomy and discipline. Every Witcher is granted significant freedom to choose their own path, contracts, and methods. However, an internal hierarchy ensures the Order stays true to its founding purpose—protecting Ëndria from the ever-looming threat of undeath.
Ranks of the Witcher Order

The Pale – Initiates who have recently undergone their final trial. Still untested, but recognized as full Witchers.   The Dim – Witchers who have survived multiple missions and show growing dedication.   The Duskened – Seasoned hunters known for their insight, discipline, and strength.   The Blackened – The most hardened of Witchers. Veterans of countless missions, unflinching and resolute.   Graduation from apprenticeship is marked by the bestowal of the Mordant Ring, a magical item akin to a bag of holding, worn with pride. It allows Witchers to carry the remains of defeated undead back to Kyl Vestiál, where they are submitted to a concecration ritual.
The Obsidian Circle

This group is composed of the highest-ranking Witchers—Blackened tier veterans who have earned immense respect. They are responsible for acquiring contracts from across Ëndria, negotiating with city-states, noble houses, and religious institutions. While they do not command in the traditional sense, the Circle curates mission postings and ensures Witchers remain loyal to the Order's charge.
The Lady's Oracle

The spiritual heart of the Order is the Seer—formally known as The Lady's Oracle. Chosen from among trained candidates, the Oracle channels the will of the Veiled Lady. Though traditionally selected through consensus, the current Oracle, Etheelia, was uniquely chosen by the Veiled Lady herself, a divine act that disrupted precedent and elevated her status.
The Maidens of Kyl Vestiál

Exclusively female members known as Maidens tend to the fortress. Often trained in clerical magic, they assist with both mundane, daily tasks, such as tending to the castle and cooking, but also more spiritual tasks, such as assisting with rituals, healing, and maintenance of the spiritual wards that shield the Order. The Maiden ranks are:   Ashmaidens – Novices who assist in basic duties and serve in silence.   Duskhands – More experienced Maidens trusted with sacred rites and ritual assistance.   Graveweavers – Elders among the Maidens, bound by years of service and trusted with deeper knowledge.
Through shadow and silence, steel and spirit, the Witcher Order stands eternal, bound by purpose and haunted by truths best left buried. - A Witcher's Creed
