As desperation in the Great Dust Bowl peaks over the struggle for a GECK a more sinister threat to humanity evolves in secret. The organization at the core of conspiracy theories across the globe since before the Great War, the Dunwich Society has discovered something worth their full attention underneath the wastes of Kansas. Deploying assets to the area in numbers that haven’t been seen since before the bombs fell, an iron curtain has fallen over the dig site to keep prying eyes out with lethal force.
While most are happy for the moments respite from their reign of terror across the region, others are smart enough to be more suspicious than ever. Even the other ghoul warlords are starting to doubt their silent benefactors, planting the seeds for a civil war should tensions turn to full-scale confrontation. The Dunwich Society seems unphased. In a fortified position with years' worth of supplies and munitions, they need only bide their time while they accomplish their objective.
Chosen by divine intervention, mystical fate, or maybe just dumb luck, you have a part to play in this conflict. Some have visions, others nightmares, and a rare few embody the ‘ride or die’ motto and stick by their friends despite not understanding the insanity. Those that have tried to expose this danger to their communities often face ridicule, as the vast majority of people are hopelessly blind to anything that isn’t standing right before them. It will be a select few that decide the future of this planet, these unsung heroes going down in infamy as crackpots and zealots as they fight for existence itself.
