Zyxthylum in The Great Dust Bowl | World Anvil

Zyxthylum

First, let me welcome you to the Great Dust Bowl and tell you how much I appreciate your interest in the site. This has been an off and on hobby since I was young, and I am grateful to have a space to share my creative outlet. Writing is really only so much fun without people to share it with, so I really do hope you find something in my work that inspires you creatively or that you find entertaining enough to take the time to read.

As a GM I like to focus more on narrative drama and character arcs rather than hard game mechanics and combat. I want people involved in the story with a real impact on not only their destination, but also their journey as well. My goal is to write a collaborative story with realistic consequences and functionality. A lot of my spare time is put into research to add a layer of possibility to the fictional settings and situations.

The campaigns I am running now are helping develop the lore of the Great Dust Bowl authentically through multiple perspectives. Player choices and areas of interest tell me which areas of the region I should be putting my time and energy into, however as a tradeoff it does slow down the momentum of my games as I typically only run once or twice a month.

~These are the campaigns I have designed for this setting~

This is a one-shot designed not only to allow new players to get a look inside the Great Dust Bowl, but through the lense of Tabletop Simulator! Engage in a layered combat experience where tactical decisions will be as important as extra ammunition with a team of well-armed Brotherhood of Steel soldiers. Specially commissioned map coming soon!

This campaign follows the main plot in the region and is intended for new players both to to the tabletop roleplaying game, and the Fallout universe itself. A group of naive Vault dwellers will be released into the harsh region of the Great Dust Bowl on an impossible mission and get caught up in the crossfire of the local factions. Heavily inspired by Fallout 1, it is my goal to bring back some of the Interplay magic.

This story delves into the paranormal happenings in the Fallout universe. Inspired by HP Lovecraft and conspiracy theory videos, it weaves existential horror and fringe science into a tale about Earth's forgotten past. A ensemble of misfits will need to band together to face a threat of unfathomable magnitude. A tale doomed to be lost in translation to the rest of the wasteland, these unsung heroes will need to keep faith despite their trials and tribulations.

(This is the current campaign I am running.)

This story follows the re-emergence of the Enclave in the region as they prepare to unleash a bloody new chapter upon the wasteland. Unable to stand by silently any longer, each player will have their own reasons to turn on their faction, laying the groundwork for a terrorist cell determined to take down the Eden Compound from the inside out. For people wanting a slow burn, limited combat experience with more strategy and planning elements.

Centered around a band of outcast mutants and hints at a connection between the Fallout series and the Elder Scrolls. It was always my favorite 'iceburg' theory, and will give everyone a chance to run rampant as homebrew creatures that would usually be too overpowered or hard to work around to be in a normal campaign.
