Tikkiss Skirmish (TICK-iss)
The first skirmish between Violet Accord and Pact of the Blessèd forces took place at the village of Tikkiss, south of the Inebi Grove. It is widely-considered to mark the beginning of hostilities of the War of the Six.
Engagement was not the original intention; small contingents of both forces were attempting an initial approach from the south toward the Inebi Grove -- the Pact's forces from Iyr in the east and the Accord from the heart of Unenshuut in the west -- and coincidentally arrived on the borders of Tikkiss at the same time. Neither received immediate orders to engage.
It is not known who made the first move, though it is agreed that it was between one to three soldiers from each side and that the brawl took place in Tikkiss itself, and that there were Tikkiss civilians injured or killed. What is objectively known is that Tharseas and Tesperu, two of Devatska Acosaphaura's sons, were present in this initial brawl and died in it; a rumor gained traction that it was these brothers that began the brawl -- and by extension, the war. There are no longer any witnesses or evidence to sustain or dismiss this, but nonetheless it was enough to lead to a rash of anti-Acosaphaura (and even anti-Etir) sentiment that persists to the present day.
Regardless, the Accord forces -- mostly Unenshuut natives -- were obliged to defend their people, just as the Pact forces were obliged to reciprocate. The skirmish lasted for no more than an afternoon and ended with minimal casualties, after direct orders were received on both sides to retreat.
