The SOL Weapon technology is a product of the
Tinkerers of Lurzia originally theorized by the mad scientist inventor
Hymcrazala. SOL Weapons come in many forms across all styles of combat and have the ability to harness the souls of the monsters they slay and the glory that their wielder beholds. SOL Weapons store this power and evolve into unique weapons with unique abilities and affinities in battle.
Mechanics
When a player uses an SOL Weapon they can choose to channel some or all of the experience that they would receive into their weapon. It then levels up much like a character. All SOL Weapons including the Weapons of Progression start at Level 1 and can be advanced to Level 10. As they level up they gain a modifier which applies to their Attack and Damage rolls as well as other effects.
Modification Crystals can be attached to any SOL Weapon should the weapon's level be sufficient.

A player can choose to have
Merchatron 37000 buy their weapon at any time for which they will receive 75% of the experience stored and gold equal to (Weapons Level -2) * Weapon's base cost. Alternatively, a player can choose to dismantle their weapon and channel 100% of it's earned experience into another SOL Weapon of their choosing by paying an amount of gold equal to the amount of experience they wish to transfer. Should the player choose to channel the weapon's experience, all attached
modification crystals are destroyed in the process.
A player can also be gifted a SOL Weapon by another player, however, in this instance, the SOL Weapon reverts to Level 1 and all attached
Modification Crystals are destroyed.
When Merchatron buys an SOL Weapon, its experience reverts back to the previous level threshold. (For example, if you sold your level 4 Soul Weapon containing 3500 exp back to Merchatron, the weapon would retain it's level, but revert back to 2500 exp, level 4's bottom threshold). The weapon can then be bought by the same player or another player for double what
Merchatron purchased it for. All
Modification Crystals and their filling effects are retained.
A player can sell the charge contained in a weapon's highest tier
Modification Crystal to
Merchatron for an amount of experience equal to the CR of the monster whose soul inhabits the
crystal multiplied by a crystal tier multiplier:
In the case that this happens, the weapon's level reverts to the highest level of its next highest tier
crystal. The emptied
Modification Crystal is destroyed in the process, though players may attach another
crystal of the same tier.
