Merchatron is a Utility Character designed for processing the players’ wealth and making in game items accessible to them without the tedium of checking every shop in every town for useful items.
Merchatron is an outlet for players to sell their extra items. He will buy items for one-half of their Base Cost according to their 5e guide price or the DM’s discretion. Any item that Merchatron buys enters his database store. Merchatron’s database store sells these previously purchased items for an amount starting at double the amount he purchased them for (Base Cost). This amount changes by an increment that is determined by its rarity tier.
Merchatron sorts items (including the ones he’s purchased from players) into rarity tiers, Common being the lowest and Mythic being the highest. These tiers are representative of the item’s value and determine the increment by which its price increases with each additional purchase throughout the party. The increments are as follows:

Additionally, Merchatron will occasionally find random objects of random rarity and incorporate them into his database store to sell to the players.
