Elemental Sprites are tiny creatures that have escaped from the
Elemental Planes of Magick into the mundane world of Men, Elves and Orcs. It is generally understood by
Loremasters that Sprites come into this world as an occasional side effect of
Mancers tapping into Elemental Magicks.
Sprites take on many temperamental forms, and some Loremasters believe there to be many other forms as yet undiscovered.
Fire Sprite
Fire Sprites look to be created out of living embers of fire. They naturally produce light and warmth. They delight in setting things on fire. Upon death, the Fire Sprite explodes, singeing everything in an immediate area around them. They leave only flecks of ash upon their expiration.
Lightning Sprite
Possessing a shocking disposition, these Sprites barely hold a humanoid figure as their electric form jumps and jerks almost faster than the eye can follow.
Zephyr Sprite
Practically invisible, Zephyr Sprites are the epitome of mischief makers
Wood Sprites
These Sprites are not often encountered outside of
The Elfwood, and are often mistaken for Faeries.
Other Sprites
Tales and legends speak of other types of Sprites, such as Shadow Sprites, Water Sprites and Stone Sprites, but remaining copies of the Folio Creatura Magickae hold no evidence of their existence. Perhaps knowledge of these beings were lost to mankind in the fires at
Rook Manor in 272 AL. Perhaps that knowledge has yet to be discovered.
