History
An ancient and powerful changeling who dwells in the Archaean realm of Tehezad within the Alaran ruins of Akonti, Tokepu and Al'rkaqit approximately 1400 to 1800 meters beneath the surface of Geron. A god-like creature of unknown origins, it is thought to be the oldest living ancestor of the Changeling species. Gomingravan is associated with the destruction of the Shi'Xul and has subsequently been eithervenerated or at least indentured by countless civilizations and cabals throughout history including the Thragn, Tokori and the Ythillians. While some believe that the Changelings were homonculi of the Shi'Xul, it's more likely that the Changelings and their ancestors the Tekel were brought to Geron along with the Ebokan in the Age of Screaming Statues during the First Cycle. Whether the Changelings were the Ebokan, their slaves or merely a powerful magical artifact is up for debate. Ultimately, Gomingravan's cynical and bizarre agenda has led to the destruction of many civilizations who have idolized it. It is also called 'Bearer of Misery', 'Well of Horrors', 'Destroyer of Thragn' and 'Lord of the Empty House'. Many people believe that Luk'kaphra is either the daughter of Gomingravan or a powerful sorcerer-priestess of the Black Tehezad.
Black Tehezad
The Black Tehezad is a religious order that hails from Tehezad and operates in service of Gomingravan. They are known as the 'Black' Tehezad because of the strange black sacrement they seek. Most Tezehadi stay underground or come out exclusively come out during the dark hours, hiding their often unusual forms from others. While they mostly wear the traditional vestments follow some ways of ancient Alarans, they have adopted many Tokori and Ebokani traditions and symbols related to their practice of Transformation magic. Members of the Black Tehezad may either be directly birthed from Gomingravan or be inducted into the order by taking the black sacrement, with some even doing so in order to increase their own power or restore their ailing bodies. Despite experiencing a strong psychic connection to other Changelings, members of the Tehezad have individuality, potentially residing outside the well of the black sacrement indefinitely while interacting with various dynasties and performing the duties of nurturing various temples to Gomingravan on the surface.
Black Tehezadi must seek out sustenance, rest and other comforts. Some even participate in cults and secret orders attempting to maintain the ancient silverblood lines of powerful Changeling-touched rulers. As most Black Tehezadi live far outside the arcoentropic fields operating in Alara, they must consume various materials to survive.
The Black Bargain
The Black Tehezad offers powerful regenerative magic to those willing to take on the black sacrement. This power can return lost limbs, allow people to regain youth and vitality, and restore ailing organs. Eventually, use of these powers cause adherents without the necessary discipline begin to develop beyond their natural forms.
