The Altay are descendants of the
Kapu who came to live in the valley lowlands and coasts. The Altay are a ceremonial and traditional people with a lingering connection to the spirits those who lived before them, sensing things which other more contemporary humans have lost touch with. This Ancestral Memory and Uncanny Sense has drives much of Altay culture and activity, anchoring the Altay to a simpler time of substistance hunting and reverence for the natural world. They are mistakenly believed to be the most primordial of the humans due to their stocky, loutish appearance, and while it's true that the Altay are often content living simple lives, many Altay feel they have something to prove in the world of the spry
Tongar. The Altay are the slowest and hardiest of the three species of Humans, with a spine recessed into the ribcage and a more robust skeletal system. This gives them some protection from attacks as well as a notably larger lung capacity necessary for the buklier Altay to move around effectively.
