Sethetism
The worship of the Divine Pharaoh, known an Sethetism, is the primary faith in Y'Matara, a practice that blends reverence for a living deity with the traditions of the ancient dragon God-Kings, known as the Scales of Sekhem. Sethet-Ka, the first and only Divine Pharaoh, is a ruler who has mastered power over necromancy due to his connection with Cyrthiur, the Broken King.
Rituals and Practices
Festival of Crimson Sands: Held on the last day of each month, this festival is both a celebration and a demonstration of the Pharaoh's dominion over life and death. Citizens gather at the Arena of Sekhem to witness gladiatorial games, where champions face challenges that symbolize the Pharaoh's struggle against the forces of chaos. Participation is mandatory, and those who refuse may become part of the games themselves. Offerings at the Ziggurat: Weekly, citizens and priests bring offerings to the Royal Ziggurat of Heka-Sar, where the Divine Pharaoh resides. These offerings range from simple grains to elaborate gifts of gold and incense, meant to secure the Pharaoh’s blessings.Temples and Worship Sites
Royal Ziggurat of Heka-Sar: The grandest structure in Y’Matara, this ziggurat is both a palace and a temple dedicated to the worship of the Divine Pharaoh. Shrines of the Scarab: Scattered throughout Y’Matara, these small shrines are dedicated to the Scarab of Rebirth, representing the Pharaoh's role in the eternal cycle. Pilgrims come to these shrines to offer prayers for guidance and to receive blessings before embarking on journeys across the desert.
