The LORD's wife, Candia Raem, passed away of illness in 43 ET at the age of thirty years old. The LORD has not taken another wife despite urgings and it is well-known that he and his wife married for love. It is rumored that LORD RAEM's grief made him absent during formative years with his two sons. The RAEM line is continued through his firstborn and heir-apparent, Ser Padras ne'Raem-The Younger-, who remains unmarried at thirty years of age and has been seen making only token attempts to resolve the matter. The LORD's second son, Ser Padral Raem, serves as a Sworn Knights of Swords and is publicly valued for his service and loyalty.

Gazetteer

The RAEM family holds lordship over territory bordering the shores of the Sea of Winds. The Family Seat is, REDCLIFF, an old stone tower that has been restoned many times and is showing its age. The RAEM family have kept the tower in their family for a significant amount of time and effect repairs whenever possible. No villagers reside immediately near the tower as it sits overlooking the waves and liklely route of any raiders--at least CUTH. REDCLIFF also overlooks two of the hamlets under RAEM's authority. The third cluster lies outside the southern side of the family's primary village holding--populated by over a thousand subjects. In total, the RAEM family holds shoreline wealth and has authority over approximately 2,300 SHIELDS souls.

Saints Shrine

There is an old shrine paying homage to several of the northern Saints situated on the turn-off to the village. The RAEM family retainers have maintained it for generations and its stone shelter is burdened with moss of some thickness. But the offering table remains along with the icons of three Saintly Ones. It is a popular stopping point for pilgrims and clergy passing through. The locals say that the RAEM family line is bound to the shrine and, as long as it remains tended, the RAEM family shall prosper. There is no evidence for such an oath or promised service but the RAEM lords and ladies have always tended the shrine and visit it regularly on their travels back and forth. It is known that LORD RAEM takes no stipend from the Church or the offerings to maintain the shrine.
