The Empire

Dearest Reader, the Empire, sometimes referred to as the Septim Empire or the Third Empire of Man (TEM), is the glory of modern Tamriel, spanning the entire continent for the past 400 years and bringing peace, stability and a civilizing force too even its most barbarous or alien corners.

The Third Empire was founded by a man named Tiber Septim, whose dynasty continues to reign to this day. While the official biographies states that Tiber was born in the frozen wastes of Atmora far to the North, there are those in Alcaire who claim he was a Breton warrior native to their island homeland.

The current Emperor, Uriel the VII of the Septim Dynasty, is an old man now, having ruled a long and largely prosperous reign. There are many who fear what instability may come upon his death, especially given the uncertainty around the Imperial succession.

The Empire is traditionally divided into 9 Provinces, including:

• Hammerfell
• High Rock
• Morrowind
• Blackmarsh
• Sumurset Isles
• Valenwood

The official faith of the Empire, is that of the Nine Divines .
