Ursings
Ursings are large hairy humanoids that are reminiscent of bears and possess sharp claws and teeth, the Ursings are split into three different sub-races, the Black, Brown, and White Ursings. Their bodies are covered in fur and they generally have large frames. Their faces look like a cross between a human and a bear, with a pronounced and snout-like nose. Ursings have a developed sense of smell but generally poor eyesight. Ursings, despite being ferocious and appearing rather unwieldy, are extremely adept in forestry. They typically keep large herds of animals that produce milk, alongside bees for honey. Ursings additionally eat large amounts of berries, other fruits, roots, and vegetables. The Black and Brown ursings rarely eat meat, but during the spawning season for salmon, they hold great festivals where they stuff themselves with these fish; some salmon eggs are eaten as well, but not as many. The White Ursings instead sustain themselves on a fatty diet of marine life for the most part. Politically, ursings organize into small communities that rarely interact with others except for marriages. Ursings mortally despise the Chitis and Cengvïen, and are quite prejudiced against them. Correspondingly, the only time ursings form large armies and display national identities is when these races begin attacking border communities, although this is rare.
