White Ursing

The White Ursing are by far the most feared Ursings, with males standing an average of 7 feet tall and weighing hundreds of pounds. They are excellent hunters, fighters, and trappers, ensuring they extract a maximum of food and resources from the north. The White Ursing are also migratory raiders, ranging south and demanding tribute along the coast when winter arises. They tend to spend most of their time near the coast, where they can catch seals, whales, and other sea creatures, especially during the summer months, when they fatten up to be in peak raiding condition. Totally at home in the snow, they can outlast anyone in the north, though they struggle in heat more than other Ursings. The White Ursings, much like their fellows, are generally organized into small communties, which in their case owe loyalty to a regional chief. Male White Ursing raid to gather loot, which is an important part of securing a high class marriage. Only the best are taken on these raids, so competition is fierce. The White Ursings are also good at constructing canoes and raiding ships, and an important part of their raids south is securing access to quality timber supplies. White Ursings believe they are all descended from a legendary warlord who forged a northern kingdom, from which they diverged from the other Ursings, and they honor him as their deity.
