Overview of Mortvügg

Mortvügg is a continent that spans 13,050,000 square miles (33.8 million square kilometers). Mortvügg is considered to be a low magical zone and is mostly populated by Minotaurs, Tai’Shoni, Humans, and Orcs. The Dark Elves of Mortvügg, brought many years ago by the Dark Elven Migrations, have also had a major impact on the continent, despite their lower population. For many years, the mighty Skoúrýkos Empire was the hegemon of the continent, ruling over vast swathes of the continent totaling almost half its area and well over half of its population. However, this state was built on the oppression of its non-Minotaur population and could never survive forever. With the collapse of this repressive state in 1930 SC, much of the continent has entered a period similar to the Early Renaissance. Following the collapse of the Minotaur dominance, traditional power structures have fallen out of favor and Mortvügg has slowly transitioned to a more feudal society, even in regions outside the old empire, though many tribes also still exist in the fringes.
