Golynien

Golynien follows the traditional pantheon of gods shared by the Kosmevair religion in an earlier form. Golyniens believe that the world is held up by a pillar, and that the mortal plane is but one of its branches. The Golynien gods are harsh and unforgiving, and Golyniens believe that when they die their soul will be judged. Those found worthy will go on to the afterlife, while those who fail the tests will have their souls put to work and used to reinforce the pillar. Those in the middle will temporarily serve on the pillar. Dedicating one's life to a god and following their tenants is typically seen as a good way to gain entrance to the afterlife. In fact, Golynien believe that with enough effort, anyone who follows a god’s path to perfection can channel that god’s spirit and become an avatar. In societies which follow Golynien, an entire class of clergy is tasked with finding these people and canonizing them. This canonization of avatars is one of Golynien's defining differences from the other Dre'an faiths, as these religions see such actions as a heretical raising of mortals to the level of the gods. It is unknown if the avatars were the reason for the split between Kosmevair and Golynien, as the two religions split before the arrival of the Fremedhian tribes to the southern coast of Telgren and the spread of Kosmevair, ut both clergies feel strongly about their position. For their part, the Kosmevair clergy claims that the raising of mortals as avatars was a part of the pre-Dre'an religion of the Orentesh and that the Golyniens failed to properly embrace the true faith, while the Golyniens assert that avatars were part of the original religion but later dropped by the Kosmevair. Due to this dispute, Iconoclasm is commonly practiced in the more radical Kosmevair states, while Golyniens who reject avatars are occasionally burned at the stake. This has caused problems for both religious communities, as the Kosmevair occasionally destroy momuments that were not based on avatars, while Golyniens have suffered many false avatars due to fear of being labled a heretic on denouncing them.
The Golynien faith is mostly practiced by the Orentesh  and the Enctör, as other culture groups have negligable amounts of followers. The Golynien pantheon is as follows:
