Silent Shepherds

The Silent Shepherds are the largest Thieves' Guild in Syoll, having branches in most larger towns and cities. Not much is known about them, but they are much bigger than most people would guess. While members usually do not make their identities known, most branch leaders have a nickname that is known by a large number of people, albeit referred to mostly with whispers and gentle nods of a head.

Structure

The Mistwalker is the highest position, the leader who resides in Syoll's Heart. Every branch has a secondary, local leader, who have contact with the Mistwalker. Then there are the recruiters, seasoned thieves who keep their eyes out for new members and train these. Below that are all the other members of the guild.   Encounters with the Disparates When the Formidable Disparates travelled to Mig Dural in order to gather information on the political landscape there, they were discreetly referred to the Shepherds by Stendar Fenlan, captain of Ironstar’s guard, from whom they received a sealed letter. They went to the Underbelly, the Ironstar branch’s hideout, and received a private audience with Blade, the Shepherds’ leader and twin sister of Stendar.   She offered the Disparates the little help she could, since recently the connections to Mig Dural’s branch had been lost. She advised them to get in contact with Dalen Oaktree, who had been sent recently to the City of Hope in order to find out what caused the branch to break off contact, which they promptly did.   Together, while exploring the Spider’s Web, they found out that the Shepherds in Mig Dural had been acquired by Riskell and his people, but they chose to lay their focus elsewhere, especially since Míriel did not inform the rest of the party of a hidden passageway that seemingly led to one of Riskell’s rooms.   During their downtime back in Ironstar, Míriel Iriel decided to complete some easier contracts for the Shepherds, keeping a strict policy of only taking contracts against people who she believed deserved it.
