Mig Duralan Revolution

The Mig Duralan Revolution was an event that marked a turning point for the politics of Mig Dural. Officially, it lasted for just under a month, during which Riskell Bellowbrand was ousted from the position of Triad Representative and replaced by the three leaders of the main guilds.

Prelude

While the rise to revolution came relatively quickly, especially from an outside perspective, the criticism of Riskell had been present since he began campaigning. Many of the crimes that he would eventually be convicted of were indeed committed before the beginning of his term as Triad Representative. However, Bellowbrand's position was stable enough for him not to be actively challenged at the start. With the representative seat in his hands, the three guilds (as well as other political figures such as Hevion Carbonhill) began to grow restless at the developments and each started their own secret operations in return.

Tensions Rising

The arrival of the Formidable Disparates, who were hired as spies by the Carbonhill Clan, caused tensions between Bellowbrand's government and the people of Mig Dural to worsen. While they investigated and partook in the Spring Tourney, they connected with the Guild leaders and managed to convince them to work together and start a revolution. Though the leaders needed a push, many guildmembers were already considering working together and thus were able to plan quickly for their next actions.   While the Disparates continued competing in the tourney, the guildleaders began to whisper of revolution to the people and raise their own members in the span of a day, acting before Riskell could learn of or react to the developing plans. When everything was in place, the Disparates attended the prize ceremony for the tourney, accepted their trophy from Riskell Bellowbrand himself, and sent up the signal that would mean revolution.

The Council Hall Siege

While the Formidable Disparates fled Mig Dural with the help of the Arcanists' teleportation circles, Riskell and his followers retreated to the Council Hall, where they barred themselves up and hid from the angered masses. Unable to use any magical means of escape, they were trapped there for a week, besieged by the people of the city. On the night of the 7th of Villtes, the doors were broken down and the hall was stormed by revolutionaries. While there was unrest and turmoil, Riskell remained mostly unharmed and was kept in the hall until the judges of the NTC could arrive.

Effects

After the trial of Riskell Bellowbrand, the guilds of Mig Dural established a new council, in which the seat of Triad Representative was to be held by a neutral person, while one member of each guild is chosen for the Representative's pool of advisors.
