Violet was only a few weeks old, and Flora Underhill had offered to care for her on the day that the raiders came, so that Marigold Smallburrow's mother could get some things done. Since the Underhills and the Smallburrows lived out on the fringe of the Halfling settlements, Old Man Proudfoot didn’t know about Violet when he found Marigold after the raid, so she stayed with the Underhills. Then, when Brogo Smallburrow showed up and took Marigold away after the war, he evidently didn’t know about Violet, either. Since Brogo Smallburrow didn’t want to be found afterwards, the village felt it was best that Violet be raised by the Underhills.

She was recently kidnapped by a blue Dragonborn and rescued by the Terrible Ten, led by Marigold Smallburrow.
