Taurond

A village of Grey Elves. There is a large, thick hedge about 10 feet high that crosses the trail and curves away into the distance on either side. Where the trail intersects the hedge is a stout wooden gate, currently open. Passing through the gate, you come into a large area, with great oak trees scattered through it. These trees have trunks at least ten feet in diameter, and reach sixty, seventy, eighty feet into the air, with large roots arching from the trunk into the ground. Around the base of each tree, intricate wooden structures have been built between and into the roots of the trees, with stables, styes, byres, and some living quarters. Some of the trees have stairs that wind around the trunks up to structures built up in the branches, about thirty feet above the ground. Between the trees, the ground is grass covered, and livestock grazes on the resulting green- cattle, horses, sheep, geese, and what look like oversized chickens. Each tree is connected to those nearby by plank and rope bridges between the elevated buildings, so one could move from one side of the village to the other without setting foot on the ground, if need be.

Just inside the gate is one of the larger trees, with mainly stables and a large kitchen around the base of it. The stairs going up are wider than most, and a sign at the foot of the stairs indicates that this is a tavern and inn. Next to that is an area that is under a lift to raise loads up to the elevated parts of the village.
