Veranyn's Lament

Veranyn by DMFW with Art Breeder
Veranyn's Lament is a work of short, free form, poetry best known in a musical interpretation for the twelve stringed Lunar Harp, popular on the moon during the Long Northern Peace.   Veranyn, herself, is said to have been a technician who worked on the Ice Dams at Letronne City.   The first version of the poem was published in 2352 AF, but it has been reworked in multiple versions over the years, sometimes accompanied by lavish illustrations as in this famous and valuable commissioned manuscript dating from 2414 AF where the art work was created by Waldrin Sax.   In 2528 AF, over a hundred and fifty years after it first appeared, Taldyne Zinthrano was inspired by this piece to write his famous play, "Tinto and Veranyn" which can be found in The Collected Works of Zinthrano. Zinthrano invented a complex love triangle for which there is no real documentary evidence, but his story became so intimately connected with the poem and the song in the public imagination that many people in later years assumed it was true.
