Letronne City
Letronne City is built into and above the walls of the Letronne crater, close to the point where it opens out into the Ocean of Storms. This is a region where the Ice Banks of antiquity were built to control the flooding of the lunar seas. Even today, water loss is managed by periodic refreshing of the oceans from these enormous reserves in spectacular spring innundations.
Letronne City is an independent state and although the rulers have long had close ties with the rulers of St. Sophia's Covenant, the citizens are proud of their regional traditions and subtly different and more musical manner of speech.
It was here that Veranyn's Lament was written in 2352 AF and the cover illustration is by Waldrin Sax from a 2414 AF edition of the lament. It shows one of the Towers of Release, which initiate the flooding cycles into the Ocean of Storms.
