Space Cowboy - Ambiance Cordell

Beginnings and Time to Wander

Ambiance Cordell was "born" on one of the smaller Gasloids Magmobe gas giants in the outer regions of the Federated Territories of Vash. Much like their Gasloid kin, Cordell came into existence suddenly and quickly, being spewed forth from the core of the planet itself and instantly becoming enmeshed with the entire planet's collective. Sharing their thoughts and generally acting as a collection of entities with semi-self-autonomy.    Cordell flowed through a fairly lackadaisical life that most Gasloids enjoy, but after several dozen years of this Cordell like many of their kin began to desire more freedom and individuality. And as the months and years went on, this desire developed into a strong wanderlust, one he could barely stand to withhold. Cordell's hopes were burgeoned when they began to hear of Gasloids from a nearby sister planet actually leaving to explore the galaxy, having developed life sustainment suits for their gas-like forms to be contained within. Allowing for moderately safe travel away from their home planets.   But alas, many years would pass before Cordell would have their own opportunity to embark on their own journey. But eventually, the opportunity would arise, when a fellow Gasloid stopped by their planet and offered a life-sustainment suit to them. Cordell eagerly accepted the suit and caught a ride with their fellow wandering Gasloid off-world. And for the first time in their entire existence, one that had already spanned well over a hundred years, Ambiance Cordell was left to their own thoughts. Untangled from the thousands of other voices that had been entangled within their own for countless years.
Ambiance Cordell's homeworld - The Magmobe subspecies of Gasloid are more common here.

An Odd Choice for a Cowboy

Ambiance Cordell would travel with their fellow Gasloid for a short time, but would eventually embark on their own, deciding that they preferred to travel alone so they could be the sole decision maker on where to wander next. Cordell though, still enjoys company and often travels from territory to territory, planet to planet, amongst other people. Opting to catch rides and pay for long-distance travel with merchants, haulers, and the like instead of purchasing their own ship and travelling alone. Cordell has met a huge swathe of people this way and has fallen into many a job interacting with these folk. In fact, this is how they got their start as a Space Cowboy. Taking up jobs that no one else would, partly because they didn't want to disappoint them and partly because Cordell needed a steady flow of cash so that they could continue travelling.     Over the years, Cordell would take on a variety of jobs, ranging from the mundane to the absolutely terrifying. Cordell has helped to protect ships during long-distance travel, assisted farmers move cattle from field to field, and retrieved an important cultural artifact from the belly of a giant desert toad on one of the cowboy moons of O.Sec F. Those sorts of things.   Cordell could never say no and was always pleased with the joyful response of a happy client after a job well done. And Cordell had a stellar reputation, for being quick, efficient, polite, and just an interesting and bizarre person to spend time with. Though they would get into the occasion trouble due to their hyper-curiosity, wandering into off-limits or dangerous areas, like when they accidentally wandered into a den of pirates upon their arrival on Hack-5. Or when they accidentally stumbled into a space station's nuclear reactor core. The latter of which got them quite the scolding, it is lucky that Cordell is made of silicon gas and is not overly affected in the same way a carbon-based lifeform would be if exposed to high levels of tradition.     Over a decade after their departure from their homeworld, Cordell still wanders the Delta Space, though they have found that they particularly enjoy exploring the outer regions of O.Sec F where strange things occur at a more frequent and vibrant pace. Garnering themselves a bit of a fanbase, especially within O.Sec F, where they are very well-known and well-liked amongst the locals. Even the criminals of the area seem to enjoy Cordells pleasant and somewhat garish personality, seeing them as an oddity that means no real harm. As long as Cordell hasn't been directly hired to work against them, they usually hold no ill will toward the Magmobe Gasloid.    Cordell currently finds themself amongst the rabble and chaos of the planet Hack-5, exploring the criminal dangers of the down-and-out settlement of Desperate's End.
Summary
Ambiance Cordell is a Magmobe Gasloid, who has been travelling the breadth of the Delta Space for many years now. Initially starting their sojourn from their home planet in the Federated Territories of Vash as a simple wanderer of the stars. However, he has inadvertently become a well-known Space Cowboy, especially in the O.Sec F region of the Delta Space.   Cordell is an extremely curious individual, even amongst the Gasloids, known as mischief-makers due to their extreme desire to explore. Cordell really only wishes to travel the galaxy and see its wonders. But they can't help but stop and help those in need. Not for any particularly strong desire to uphold their moral standing, but mostly because Cordell is socially awkward and has a hard time saying no to people. Especially those that have shown them kindness. So, they tend to accept jobs wherever they land and have hence garnered an unexpected but warranted reputation as one of the kindest Space Cowboys working today.

An Abnormal Life-Sustainment Suit
Ambiance Cordell in their natural form is a large cloud of purple, red, and pink silicon gas that takes up a large space of about ten to twelve cubic feet. Though most of the time, Cordell can be found within their Life-Sustainment Suit, a specialized containment unit that allows Gasloids to survive and travel outside of their home planet. Each Gasloids sustainment suit is unique, and are often built or modified to their specific needs and wants. Cordell's suit is made of a dark green flight material, a large box-shaped life-sustainment unit on the front, which vents out the back via several tubes, and a multi-use function backpack that can be used to push the suit and its Gasloid inhabitant through water, or through the vacuum of space.   Cordell's viewport is a large dome made out of what looks like a glass-like material which sits atop the entire suit. Giving the suit a somewhat classic fishbowl divers suit feel to it. This viewport helmet is actually a replacement from the suit's original design and is in fact an Abnormality Objects which Cordell discovered during their adventures. The viewport has been christened, by Cordell, as the Sometimes Helpful Hints Dome. Cordell, can point at an object, creature, or landscape and ask the Dome for a helpful hint. In return, if the dome knows anything, a portion of the dome will fog up and small scribbles of text will appear as if being drawn through the foggy part of the glass. Usually, the hints are short and can include things like "Danger Zone" or "Pleasant", things like that. And if the dome has no hints, it simply replies with "I dunno" and leaves it at that.
