The Void

To describe the void, is to go mad.
To comprehend it, is to forever lose what you once was.
"No knowledge must be wasted" is the word under which this record is penned by shaking hand with knowledge that the mind of its maker shall not be forced to suffer past three setting suns, and as such, shall be safe from pain of exploring the depths of insanity through which a mind must be hurled in musings of this nature.
The nothingness of the void is not able to be likened to anything within the realm of mortal sanity, it is a realm that can be best likened to be to the astral plane what the ethereal is to the prime material, yet at the same time as it is so close to the astral, it is through the void that the astral plane burrow safe tunnels through an endless nothing that is at the same time the closest to the material and, cursed be the thought, to the theoretical far realm at the edge of even the wisest of diviners lence.
That nothingness cannot be likened to night in its darkness, for it is beyond such definition. Staring into its endless abyss of eternal atramentous void is to not be able to see the hand held before one's face, yet also see for an infinite distance forth into the realms that can and can't be roamed by mortal, immortal and divine form.
That depthless place of insatiable pathways traversed by the wretched creatures that held mortal kin as their cattle and amusement for a elven generation in the crisis still remembered in person by mortal minds, as well as beings far worse traversing it from what I have growingly begun to fear be more than a mare theory...
My death shall come soon, and with it release from the festering at the corners of my eyes, the writhing tendrils crawling under my skin, the growing sensation of a mass of flesh pushing its way up my throat from some cavernous hole formed within my spine as result of these studies within maters that was never preview of my mortal form, the sent of burning smoke rising within a endless ocean of drowning souls captured in the maw of such restless horrors roaming within the dark chasms within a endless eternity of nothingness yet somehow darker than the endless horror around them from whence creatures things which already would break the mind of the highest of our order...
"No knowledge must be wasted" so pray to those who come after me that they do not dive into this abyss of wretched insanity, for what lies beyond the research I've done is not something our kin ought to hold and as such be forced to retain within tomes which one day will come to be gateways for that far of place from whence these abominations and anathema to existence came.
Let none follow my steps. let none else feel this pressure on their mind, the taste of ink in their mouth, the sensation of claws and things far worse crawling on their skin and burrow inside to fester and laugh as they find amusement in the futile struggle of the being that can only understand their own existence, and as such is forced to insanity by the realization of their horrific reality.

-Record by Half-Elven Lorekeeper Elyeras Vimond, in the dawn of the 12th cycles first era, penned the day before their termination on own request through cleansing fire.
The Void.
The emptiness from whence the Vyre found a passage to other planes before they found the astral plane's much safer journey.
The void is an anathema to the mind of a being limited to the understanding of four, perhaps five dimensions. The void exists between all planes, an everpresent reality that separates the realms by a simultaneously endless and near thought thin expanse of abyssal nothingness.
To seek and make an example of its workings, the void surrounds everything, a viscous mass of infinity. Within this viscous mass, resides the planes of existence, those of mater, element, astral, and beyond. most prevalent of these planes is the astral, forming a cluster around the planes we know to be, The Prime Material Plane, the four elemental, the Shadowfell, and the realms of gods. most of these can be treversed to, through the astral plane, which to the creature making its way through it, would appear to be an endless expanse of emptiness with occasional debris makings its way through it. yet at the same time as this is truth, the astral plane itself simply burrows through the void, simultaneously as it is the prime material where the void is the ethereal.
the mind may start to boggle and bend at this mare thing, so in an endeavor to show a side of the void more able to be understood, likening it to the state of dreaming mortals experience may do one good. for within the void, time and space hold little meaning. A journey through the void is never a certainty, as making one's way between two points can mean a lifetime of floating through infinite abyss, or a single blink is all it takes for the being to appear at the other end of their route. however, mayhaps it was within the prime planes merely a second in the first case and a passing of cycles in the later. the void holds no care, for it holds no mind. it's a slumbering eternity of simple perpetuality.
However, it is not without its ability to be used, creatures can attune to its incomprehensibility, and in so doing learn to utilize it in a limited fashion. The endeavor is a risk-filled one, as any creature within the void suffers madness from the experience of its very reality. and even those highly adept at utilizing it, bar perhaps the being known as The Night Sire Show Spoiler
(ARTICLE WILL BE MADE)

Different Sources

not all see the void the same way, and in a chronicle such as this one, no source should be overlooked. so in such an endeavor as to compile a more full image of the unimaginable, more then merely the lore keepers records shall be put down.

By Warlocks

Warlocks of beings undescribable to the mortal mind sometimes call upon the void as a pathway to access their dark patrons, to communicate with such vile creatures with names unpronounceable by any wholesome being.
The void is a anthethema to mortal mind, it was never ment for the biology of our limited world of mater, time, and soul. it was ment prehaps not even for those who I serve. More then likely, it was ment to be left alone, if it ever had even a purpose to begin with...
I hope this jurry will realise, that when I walk to the podium to face my death, to have my head cleaved and I offer a final word to my patron rather then your pathetic gods, that you will realize that the word I shall offer them is to not let whatever would have given such a realm purpose find our material realm.
For though I despice this jurry, though I dispice the races walking this acursed material world. it is far better then anything that might have given such a empty nothingness purpose finding it and making a nest from the rotting remains that will be left after its marest glance.
-Warlock Ignathrol Albaran, in the final hearing before their execution.

By the Vyre

To the Vyre, the void represents the first way they escaped from their dark realm of Vaipira, and to one of their clans, in particular, it is as much a part of them as the blood running through their thirsting veins.
Fear the void? Fear is irrelevant in the matter of the void. For it will not care for a mortal beings emotion, nor that of the imortal. It will not yeild for anything else then use of it. That emptyness is a place between all that is, and as such, is the domain of my clan. We do not call it our home, for we are only renting stay within its... "walls"
To seek and document its workings has been a quest that many Preceptors have devoted their cults to undertake. Many futile of course, and its not for nothing that you seldom see a feral of my clan stalk the night.
Where Steel becomes a ruthless brute with a animalistic cunning, gold turns a monsterous serpent of hypnosism, and the clan closest to us a grotesce leach seeking only to sate its unending thirst for blood... We become one with what our clan is part of. Its not seen by all as a failiure, some see it marely as another form of success when the mass of shadow and nothing rushes across the floor to tear the mind and reality from the very core of the mortal cattle that was tasked with the simple undertaking of aiding in their transformation.
So, to fear the void? its fruitless. Better to accept its prepetual eternity.
