Orillant, a village nestled within the Burbry Kingdom, carries with it the echoes of a storied past. Once a thriving town at the heart of the Burbric Empire, Orillant held expansive estates, a bustling main street, and an arena that reverberated with the cheers of its spectators. Encircled by stone walls, it was a symbol of the empire's influence. However, the Fall of Parretoa plunged the world into a long darkness, and the empire's grasp on the town waned. Slowly but surely, its inhabitants departed, leaving behind a once-proud town to yield to the relentless march of time. When the Burbric Empire eventually reclaimed the land, Orillant had lost its former grandeur, its structures indistinguishable, its walls reduced to ruins, and its once-majestic arena partially collapsed. Today, Orillant bears the marks of its tumultuous history in its layout. The remnants of the ancient arena made a defendable spot. Repurposing the stones from the surrounding ruins, the villagers constructed a protective wall that envelops their newfound haven. Inside these age-worn walls, new homes have emerged. Small fields for crops and pastures for herded animals have sprung up amidst the remains of the old town, transforming Orillant into a unique blend of history and modernity. The heart of Orillant beats with the warmth and tenacity of its inhabitants. Home to a community of some 700 souls, the village thrives amidst the remnants of a once-great empire. These people toil amidst the ruins, cultivating the land and tending to their herds. They are bound together by a shared sense of nostalgia and melancholy, for they reside in the shadow of history, surrounded by the remnants of an old empire.
