Sigrid Hulgdotter
Sigrid is the younger sister of Eivor, from the Raven Clan which resides in the Northern Hinterlands of Manadh and Hakkak high in the snowy mountains of the Spine. Honor and Courage are held highest of all, often with ale and song.
During the events leading up to the Battle of the Northlands, Sigrid became Jarl of the Raven Clan and Odin’s chosen Champion.
Sigrid has been chosen by Odin, the Alfather, and bears his spear, Gungnir.
Physical Description
Sigrid has several Norse tattoos marking her devotion to the gods and heroic deeds of her clan. Many of these tattoos feature around the scars left by the beast she defeated to earn them.
Mental characteristics
Sigrid Hulgdotter grew up in the northern hinterlands in Manadh and Hakkak, high in the snowy mountains of the Spine. Her clan, the Raven Clan, are a nomadic clan that use the ocean and icy rivers as their personal highway with their longboats.
Sigrid and Eivor lost their mother at a young age. Their father raised them in between raiding for the clan, but would often be gone for months at a time throughout their youth. Sigrid and her brother were unofficially adopted and raised by the clan seer, Brodil Grodundotter, during these times of absence. To this day, Sigrid still sees Brodil as a mother figure.
The siblings both grew with a strong faith in the pantheon of gods of the Northern Hinterland clans. Sigrid is sure that Brodil was hoping they would carry the Seer's mantel. When Sigrid had reached her 16th winter, their father was killed by one of the Blood Giants while coming back from a raid. Sigrid has always felt the responsibility of her people for ridding the world of the Blood Giants after that.
Growing up as a shieldmaiden in the Northern Hinterlands is not always easy, but it certainly is better with allies. The Raven Clan is known to be close, even amongst those who don't get along. Sigrid's closet friend in the clan is Randi Ingadotter, a boat maker and wood carver of the clan, who she has known her entire life. She is also good friends with Grom Birgerson, the son of the clan's jarl for most of her life, berserker, and champion mead drinker.
When brother had gone a viking and not returned, Sigrid set out from her clan's territory to go find him or see if he resided in Valhalla's halls. On the way she befriended Veture, a sorcerer who might be Loki in disguise, filled with wild magic. Together the met the Fucking A Team and learned of Eivor's fate. Determined to finish her brother's quest, to find a weapon powerful enough to defeat the Blood Giants, Sigrind and Veture joined the group.
Sigrid was raised by the seer of her clan and has received much of her training of the gods through Brodil Grodundotter. She is also formally trained as a blacksmith and spent much of her time perfecting the craft for her clan before she went to find her brother's fate.
Sigrid is a trained blacksmith and member of the Fucking A Team. Her first priority however is as Jarl to her clan and in servitude of Odin.
During the course of the War of the Northern Hinterland Clans with the Blood Giants, Sigrid became Jarl of the Raven Clan after learning of Bo Ulfson betrayal, poisoning the previous jarl.
She is also known as one of the Champions of the North in Manadh for destroying the Blood Giants' hold over the Northern Hinterlands.
"I’m committed to my crewmates, not to ideals. For them I would die and they me. Whether we like each other matters not. The thing that keeps a raid together is mutual respect between commander and the crew."
Personality Characteristics
My honor is my life. Those who fight beside me are those worth dying for.
Once someone questions my courage or slights my clan, I never back down no matter how dangerous the situation.

Like most clans in the region, the Raven Clan is very superstitious and deeply devote to their pantheon of gods, Sigrid is no exception. She often looks for Omens in the world, especially after Odin appeared to her and told her she was needed to lead her people, giving her Gungnir and the use of his ravens.
While many of the gods in the clans have different names then the rest of the continent, they are the same. Thor (Cayden Cailean), Odin (Gorum), Baldur (Sarenrae), Fenrir (Rovagug), Bragi & Freya (Shelyn), Freyr (Erastil), Heimdall (Abadar), Hel (Pharsma), Hönir (Kurgess), Hugin and Munin (Baphomet), Jormungand (Gozreh), Lodurr (Asmodeus), Loki (Norgerber), Ran (Besmara), Surtr (Zyphus), Tyr (Trudd), Uller (Ketephys), Vidar (Calistra) Mitnot, and Gub Lin.
In addition, the clans have recently recognized Moxie, the Reluctant Goddess, for her hatred of the Blood Giants and their Cultof the Devourer.
In addition, the clans have recently recognized Moxie, the Reluctant Goddess, for her hatred of the Blood Giants and their Cultof the Devourer, although her absence in
The Blood Giant War has called into question the goddess' intentions.
Sigrid's accent of one of the Northern Hinterland Clans is apparent to anyone from Manadh. She often speaks of deeds in the manner of which most would hear myths and sagas, even the most mundane events, though she never falsifies the tale. She would for instance reference the dire winter wolves she fought as "offspring of Fenrir" or the adventuring party as "holumenn" or "raiding crew".
