The Blood Giant War

Military action

The final preparations for war with the Blood Giants and the united Five Factions of the North commence. On the 23rd of Desnus, the Blood Giants move out of their stronghold and the war begins. It is over before sunset with the Five Factions of the North victorious, largely do to the party now known as the Champions of the North.

The party began their preparations for war. Sigrid worked on getting the viking clans to work cohesively. Rizz took care of themselves like a good pregnant robot. Hype and Maris worked with the Daher outriders training tactics and scouting the enemies positions. Marigold went to make sure the elves were ready after the attack on their elders. Vetur did “dream research” for the week (cat napped in inconvenient places) and Rumpel raised morale by drinking and partying their way through every war camp.   Breeze worked on tactics, studying military techniques stored in the whisper jar network, but founded herself interrupted several times, most notably by Sigrid throwing her a birthday party.   The party was unfortunately cut a little short (only 6 rather than the traditional 12 of Sigrid’s clan) by the news that the Giants of Skarsgard had begin to move south. Rumpel and Vetur pushed from the north, their Tabaxi avalanchers and Mammoth allies snowballing enemies and causing chaos. Rizz and Sigrid riding ice skimmers with the Raven and Iceberg clan cut into the middle as Hype and Maris harried the south to give time for the Daher forces to charge. Marigold and Breeze used the elves ability to tree stride to great use teleporting into the center of the enemies forces and harry them at their core before returning back to cover.   However this did little to slow the inexorable advance of Skarsg and his frost giant bodyguards and the spirits of the Ice elves in Marigold’s called out accross the battlefield that the time to confront the ferocious leader himself was at hand.   The party defeated Skarsg, Sigrid nearly dying and Marigold shredding the dark twisted soul severing the link between the Goliaths and the devourer.   However the battle was not without loses and some allies fell in battle.   The leader of Vetur’s clan, an ancient catfolk, died avalanching himself and several hill giants. Astrid, the viking Goliath warrior who had a brief fling with Hype died in battle against a troop of ogres with bolt launchers. Merindah, the elven elder of the Shadow Tribe, the one who treestrided the party to their final battle fell to a frost giant as she assaulted the protective wall Skarsg bodyguards had built. Jahan, Hype’s aunt and leader of the Daher Noble House of Samarra fell in battle during one of the last charges of thier knights. Geir, the bard of the Mammoth clan who taught Breeze, the song of dead heroes, also fell to a hill giants club. Breeze played her own rendition that was carried by Odin’s winds to every corner of the battlefield.   The last of the giants were defeated and Skarsgard was deemed too corrupted to recover and the Daher and Elves lit it with purifying flame.
