213: Newbie Night I

General Summary

It’s Newbie Night at Ragnorok fight club. Francis tries to keep the night running smoothly. Mora does a favor for a friend. Dee deals with family drama. Eugenia attempts to gain allies. While Kit has a study date at the Ikeda house.

Ryan spent the whole night going over the events at Helix labs and has made amazing breakthroughs.

Haha, JK! He's totally bonkers.

Ryan Roswell recaps his "Make a Hard Choice" from last episode. Takes a crack to his "Take the Power Back/Mission" logos.

He gives the hard drive and files to Kit to deliver to Mora.

Study Date Vibes

At the end of last session, Kit yeets out the window of the Excalibur mansion and bounds off into the night. The next morning, Kit arrives at PS 192 displaying their "well fed" mythos powers openly in the school hallway. Katrui's presence is calming and the mythos effects recede. Kit and Kat spend the day going over Ikeda family ettiquite and personalities. There are flashcards, highlighters and a cute montage of study date ethestics.

Eugenia has lunch at Igraine’s house, who lives in a lovely Hilltop neighborhood. She updates her sister on the Winegarden related events at the wedding. Igraine is shocked by the new Camlenns but happy that Eugenia is going to take care of this new political development. She’s concerned about Sarah and her interaction with Eugenia. They both find Sarah Camlann to be a terrifying force, even 20 years later.

Eugenia shares the different options for the upcoming vote. Igraine becomes even more concerned that the Caliburns may lash out at her children, the next Excalibur heirs. She also mentions meeting Vanessa and how she seemingly wants to murder Helene. Igraine is worried about the future of their family but she’s ready to support Eugenia in whatever way she needs.

Finally, Eugenia shares that Camille Caliburn stole their Grandmother’s jewelry. Igraine is furious since those were meant to be hers. “We burn that place to the ground.”
Eugenia continues with her work day and checks in on the Penthouse. She introduces Isaac to Velma and has ‘adopted’ him into her growing collection of house guests. Eugenia asks Velma to help Isaac uncover his past. Velma is thrilled to have a new project in Isaac.

Velma also passes along a note Sarah sent about Anton Volkov. “He can be convinced to go your way.” The note includes the address to Tooth and Nail.

What’s up, Twerp!

Dee gets a call from her brother, Raynaud. He’s terrible but hilarious.

Turns out their mother was withholding files to assure that Dee would fulfill her agreement to accompany her to the wedding.

Jacqueline gave Raynaud the other half of the files who is now her “delivery boy.”

He asks if shell be around and is calling ahead to make sure Dee doesn’t punch him. He’ll stop by later that evening.

He asks if Dee knows about Tooth and Nail, “it’s off the tracks, degraded, beneath me... So it seems like your kind of place.”

He was invited by his “lady friend” to meet tonight.

This lady friend told him to wear a bright red scarf. (trap!)

Renaud has broken the Paris agreement of 2015 where Dee never has to know anything about his sex life.

Paris Bagels becomes a place in the City.

Dee tries to get Reynaud to drop off the files now, but he’s so gross.

Obviously, he never shows so Dee has to go to Tooth and Nail.

Maria's strange maternal instincts

Mora takes some time to look over the files Ryan sent her.

It doesn’t need encrypting software to run it, but it’s mostly raw scientific data, displays of chemicals and test results.

Mora can’t make sense of it, tosses the files in her bag to have on hand.

Meets Cesar at the Kitty Cat Cafe’. He’s in heaven with a black coffee and 2 cats cuddled up with him.

Asks for a personal favor for Maria. Natasha Volkov has fallen back into her “troublesome ways.” Maria wants to help her break free from her Uncle’s bad influence.

Maria can’t go to Eastside without rousing suspicion from her cousin, Samuel, and doesn’t want to tip him off to her recent dealings with Bo Peep.

She’ll be at an underground fight club. Help her exit gracefully from the situation.

Cesar reads a message directly from Maria. “Thanks, you may be a stone-cold, dead bitch but sometimes your heart still beats.”

Bloody Marys and Chicken Wings

Francis is at Tooth and Nail with Lukas getting "Ragnarok" ready for the fight.

Ragnarok is held in the basement, underneath the gym.

There is a Bloody Mary buffet and chicken wings galore.

They figure out the lineup with Lukas. There are 4 new fighters tonight and one regular.

Braket of the noobs will eventually go against a regular at the end. 4 fights total.

Francis tells Lukas that Emma is awakening and can make fires without a match.

Shows Lukas the Bear beer bottle he still has.

Francis tells Lukas to MC for the night.

Francis is still recovering from the previous activities but is finding it harder to recover. "Exhausted" becomes his new weakness tag for his Rapid Cell Growth theme.

Francis gives private lesson to a new trainee named Amy. She's a rift 5'5 stocky, moves very fast. She's very calm, has a stillness that makes movement unexpected.

Her flaw is she drops her guard.

Eugenia, I do what?

The crew takes a break to discuss how the Excalibur manor reacted to the 4 assholes who sprang into Eugenia's budiour at the conclusion of last episode.

The Winegarden estates are semi-sentient and reflect the attitudes of their family.

The house didn't get a read on the fox who did a yeeet out the window.

Ryan recalls very little. He was unsurprisingly unwelcome. The house keeps showing him the door, literally.

The house was mostly neutral toward Mora and also very watchful. But were the watchful eyes the house or Percival wheezing from within the secret passages. *wheeze* "God Damed, Caliburns!"

The house LOVES Dee. It recognized another person who is a friend to the Excaliburs and "my people."

Ikeda House

There's the house, that might not like Kit??? But that's crazy because houses don't do that....

Kit changes out of uniform and arrives just after dinner for study date with Kat.

Katuri makes a big deal about coming into the house and needing to invite Kit.

Katuri is nervous and awkward and explains "The Rules" to a blushing Kit.

They go to Kat's bedroom, door open, to avoid Tomah who's in the den.

Smoochy smoochy, then watch Chinese fantasy show that Kat’s obsessed with.

Kit leaves to grab drinks. Kat wants an energy drink, 'Hermes Flight'

Kit opens the door and Aunt Gemma walks briskly down the hallway. "She could have been listening at the door, who knows?"

The Ikeda house is amazingly beautiful, a place of dreams.

Erika is sitting in the kitchen, working on her computer while relaxing with wine.

She thanks Kit for helping helping with "chemistry" since Katuri has been struggling with the subject.

Kit mentions Thea's graditude for taking care of the suit and polite gestures are made.

Erika and Kit have trouble talking around the mist regarding the events at the wedding.

Kit drops all pretenses and tells her that they "Saw it all."

Erika did not see the time bubble, but did see the pirates in elevator.

Kit tells her everything they witnessed at the Belmont but leaves out Dr Mori-Ikeda, Helix, Mora, and the rest of The Crew.

Ragnarok!

11:00 PM, Back door and stairs lead to the bare room, a caged ring and a nice buffet.

If you know the right words, or have the right swagger, you can come to watch or fight.

Francis goes and talks with the Noobs with what to expect. Give it your all. Anything goes, but murder.

Only 3 of the 4 fighters have shown up.

Pale, greasy guy. Nods and rubs his greasy hair.

Tall, strong woman, Feems familiar.

Trench coat weirdo. Beeezil Camlann?

Francis tries to find Amy to be the fourth.

Carmen is present and tell him more about the sample he brought her.

Bone sample is super-lite, seems Avian.

Francis remembers that Kissas told them that the calamity came from the sky.

Still working on the liquid compound.

“You here to fight, or bet?”

Mora arrives to scope out the scene.

Eddie is at the door. Each person needs to show their mythos to get in.

Mora gestures to dead self and Eddie lets her in, but asks her if she's fighting or betting.

Details of the buffet- wings, nachos cheese and pump, icee machine of margaritas.

Mora acknowledges Francis and goes to find a seat.

Some regulars and some nervous teenagers have already arrived.

Anton Volkov arrives with son Anton II, Serge, Natasha, 2 bodyguards. They make and entrance, flashing their 'big money.'

They are the criminal element.

The greasy guy fighter approaches them and is clearly the Volkov fighter.

Mora finds a good seat to watch Natasha. She looks like she's high on something.

Outside drugs are not allowed at Ragnarok, but drinks are.

The Volkovs bring their own drinks, that are probably wine? but Natasha is snorting something from her hollowed out cross filled cocaine.

Francis has John confiscate Natasha’s drugs.

Natasha Volkov's face claim is Sarah Michelle Geller from Cruel Intentions.

“I just assumed you’re always here”

Dee's never been to Ragnarok before.

She Uses her Doorway powers to enter several times and Jon lets her go in.

She takes in the scene and sees the Volkovs. Wait, Volkovs... Dee remembers that Reynaud had to miss the wedding because he had to avoid the “Widow Volkov.”

Reynaud and his stupid 'red scarf' are nowhere to be seen.

Dee realizes he was set up and looks for doors where her brother might be stashed.

There are 2 locker rooms, office upstairs, mechanics room, bathrooms.

She sees Mora and asks if she's seen her brother. Mora hasn't.

Dee and Mora both assume the other is always here for fight night. lol

Dee tells Mora what’s going on with her brother.

Tiamat tempts Dee “What face are you looking for?” Dee resists.

Dee finds 2 jewelry scarab beetle listening devices from Bag of Artifacs, to eavesdrop on Volkov’s.

Volkov’s excited about "their man" in the ring tonight.

Eugenia Excalibur arrives.

Eugenia creates the biggest sword Eddie’s ever seen.

Eddie becomes smitten with her and lets her in.

Eugenia Makes An ENTRANCE.

She's wearing motorcycle boots, TIGHT jeans, black leather coat, plain T-shirt. Each piece looks expensive.

Eugenia goes to the bar Just want shrimp and pickles for her Bloody Mary

Agnes Withelby is very pale, almost translucent and british accent. Treats Eugenia with deference.

Greasy Guy vs. Tall Strong woman's fight begins.

Time to break out the Ikeda Juice

Erika has a surprised expression on her face while hearing Kit recap what they saw.

Kit has been flowing information about the wedding.

Erika didn’t know Kit's tattoo came from Hollows. Was very shocked Kit went there.

Erika asks “Do you think you brought something from the Hollows to the wedding?”

Kit tells her about some guy (Ryan) and how they had to rescue him. Kit mentions the hand print on his neck and suggests maybe he did.

Erika says "The Hollows have long eluded our understanding of what is going on..." And eludes to that being part of a bigger problem.

Kit tells her about Calamity that they stopped, their scar from the holy weapon, and with Eugenia Excalibur.

Erika thinks Eugenia Excalibur’s involvement is a joke.

Erika ends conversation abruptly when kit asks about Suki.

Kit uses 2 “Speaking Erika” juice to persuade her to listen. (Juicy Juicy C** C**)

Kit rushes into an apology and quick explain action about the message Suki game them.

Suki wanted “water to flow” “wheels to turn” and the creature with “coins on their eyes” was blocking this from happening.

Erika reluctantly shares that another Calamity occured in the 1950’s and her family helped defeat before it could rise. (What form did it take?) Erika was upset that her family wasn't called to help.

Kit shared some of their rocky history with the Kissas.

The Ikeda’s stopped the second calamity without the help of the Kissa’s and hinted that she might want to unite with them again.

Kit told her about the the holy weapon and that they helped Eugenia weild it.

Kit revealed their part with the Holy Sap and that it was given to them to save their life.

Erika shows a photo on her laptop, group photo from 1950’s with numerous Ikedas that gave their lives in defense of the city. They’d doing this for generations.

In the photo is Dee. Looks like regular *sshole Dee. Not Red or Black Dee.

Kit tell her Dee is alive. Erika called her Delia.

Erika shares a final thought “Kat has a destiny ahead of him that may not be pleasant and please assess your feelings for him deeply.”

Kit awkwardly grabs the drinks including “Hermes Flight.”

Jesse Bell Vs. Yuri Volkov

We recognize Jesse Bell as the bouncer from Wild Hunt.

The other fighter is Yuri Volkov. Unclear how he’s related.

-Lukas takes an old Polaroid of both fighters and slaps them against a wall as they head into the ring.

Lukas reminds them of the rules “Don’t kill each other” cuz he can only get them back so far.

The Vlkovs have money down on their fighter.

Anton tells Natasha to shake out of it and pay attention. Tells her to take a drink.

That’s not red wine. It’s revealed that the Volkovs are actually vampires; rich, gangster, vampires.

They were bootleggers during the temperance and came to power.

Does Reynaud have the ‘talking penis crown of destiny” as a mythos?

Jesse’s skin looks like aged Copper.

Natasha goes to the bar and orders a Bloody Mary. Much more ominous now that we know they are VAMPIRES.

Dee overhears the Volkovs ask Anton “Should we check on the package?”

He responds by saying “Let him sweat it out a little more.”

Mora approaches Natasha and talks to her about Maria’s concern for her.

Natasha looks nervously at her family and then asks if she can join Mora at her table.

Natasha changes her mind about the drink and then follows Mora back to her seat.

Jesse gets in a good blow and splatters blood, much to the glee of Carmen.

Eugenia decides to join Mora and Natasha, and introduces herself.

Dee introduces herself as Delia Seltzham to the newcomers. Eugenia plays along.

Francis comes back to the main room and sees Mora, and then sees Dee, and is that Eugenia??? “What the fuckity fuck is goin on?”

Yuri takes Jesse down and Yuri moves on.

Both fighters took a huge beating.

Lukas puts the Polaroid on each fighter. The most of the injuries are transferred to the pics.

The camera is a relic of Dorian Grey.

The camera pans out to reveal hundreds of photos on the wall from all of the fights.
