Deromir Bridge

No one thought it was possibles to build such a thing with so little that we had and the idea made many believe that it would only doom us all at a faster rate. But know I am an old man and I see it as a dream come true, after years of hardships and struggle we actually did it and know our children and their children can live without hardships that we experienced when we were young. - entry of an unknown builder

Purpose / Function

It was designed to allow travel across the Wild Channel to be able to travel to the sub continent of Hurok to transport resources to the main continent.

Alterations

The original design of bridge was made from stone, wood and metal and done at a rapid pace in order to reach Hurok. But once enough resources were available it was quickly change to Drahiv Stone, the most durable of stone at the time. A few thousand years later and the bridge would be reinforced with metal support beams to handle the railways that constantly drove on it. the more resources were available, it was remodeled to be more sturdy and durable. rest stops were made for drivers to rest due to the length of the bridge taking day for anyone to cross it. Then during the steam age, the roads that were used to transport supplies and resources were replaced with railways to decrease transportation time as it took some time to travel across. Then final forty millennia later it would be reconstructed to be a metal made bridge as it was more efficient to travel across. As it final reached the modern era it was retrofitted with the most advanced technology available to date and consider to have the fastest transportation system in the world.

The current design of the bridge was made of refined metals to support it self as the current trains that travel across it often go over five hundred miles per hour as a time. Along with the it pillars being far apart from one another adding more stress to the bridge as well. It was designed to have the color white a as way showing how pure it goal was to bring resources to the rest of the The Pheonixian Dominions.

History

Post Cataclysm Age

During the time of the Post Cataclysm Age, the newly formed The Pheonixian Dominions dominions were in a state of crisis as the resources were scarce even with all of all the resources combined by it members. With them the new formed nation would not be able to survive and rebuilt the lands that were long since destroyed during the God War. Ships were sent out to report findings that could be exploited. When ships that ventured to the west returned they reported that one sub continents which was Hurok, had a large amount of mineral deposits. But there were not actual ways to actual get their since transporting these resource was quite risky as it was across the Wild Channel, a highly dangerous water way that was dealing with many ever changing currents that can tear apart a ship with ease. When someone suggested to building a bridge, their was some laughter in the room, until someone said it could be possible and all went silent. The on who said this was the Phoenix Knight and he order that the greatest builders from the across dominion should convene in building this project. Many came a deliberate on how it should be done, but one in particular, Deromir the builder of Gear Nation knew what he was doing and his designs accepted. But the location he chose for the bridge case a stir, as it was placed between the borders of the Kingdom of Van Carno and the Machine Collective with both side wanting full control over the bridge, but eventual an agreement was made with joint control over the bridge. After thirty years of hard labor the bridge was completed and resources would be sent to the main land. With thousands of wagons and workers coming across it daily to harvest resources. To that Deromir for his aid when was given rank of Forge master and the bridge was named after him in his honor. It is consider the longest bridge in the world going at five thousand miles and thirty miles long.

Steam Age

As steam technology was created the travel across the bridge was changed with the train. Making it much faster to get across it and created more productivity. But it lead to criminal activity as contraband and other illegal activates smuggled themselves into Hurok as security became lacking due to the need to maintain activity at all costs. This would case centuries of crime in the region as it corrupted many public officials and workers as well.

Diesel Age

The bridge had not seen much in the last few millennia but when Great war broke out, the bridge was target regularly by the forces of the Imperial Alliance and defense were soon put on it and it became one of the most fortified loctaions in the The Pheonixian Dominions almost rivaling the The Tower of Judgement at the time. After the war ended the fortified defense were lower but some remain to this day as a perception.

Modern Age

One of most devastating incidences happen only hundred years ago and it is still has caused shockwaves to this day. A member of the High council T32, also known as Fergon was killed in a bombing by Machine extremists when he was going to inspecting the mining operations on behalf of the Machine Collective. How they managed to get past security is unclear, but two more bombings took place after he was killed, which almost crippled the bridge, and would have cripple the economy as well. After that several check point and security details were placed along the bridge to ensure that an incident such as this never happens again.
