Soul Fragment: Nekahar

This palm-sized gem contains a fragment of the Wither dragon Nekahar, and bears a powerful attunement to the Dark Tapestry. However, the gold entrapments surrounding it are a strong counter, made of gold mined in the First World, and crafted by an artisan of the Fey. The item was the main reward of the Odal Runestone trial on the Rambling Road, and was given to Flay.

Mechanics & Inner Workings

This soul fragment must be bonded to a willing creature as part of a ritual that takes 24 hours to complete. Once attuned, the bearer gains a +4 untyped bonus to Sanity checks, and they and their allies are immune to any Sanity effects generated by Nekahar. Once per week, the bearer may summon the aspect of Nekahar from the stone as if they had cast Summon Creature, which takes one round to complete and treats the bearer's character level as their caster level (even if they do not have levels in a casting class).
This item does not count against the maximum number of magic items the bearer can utilize at one time, but refuses to be placed in pocket dimensions (e.g. null space chambers).
