The Harpoon that killed the Spike Lord

Out of all the traits that define the Ará and their phratries, they pride themselves as being the best hunters of the confluences in the Subselar Boundary. Techniques of hunting have been passed down for thousands of years between master hunters and their apprentices, and what was once started as an act for food has become a proving ground for many of the cultures that are scattered in the Castraversi. Despite this age-old method of showing mettle between families and tribes, the one quarry that remains elusive to all is that of The {Spike Lord} who, above all others, tends to make the hunters the hunted. This has been the way of Ará life, for all but one.    This one particular hunter, obsessed with the hunt, pursued a particular Spike Lord to the ends of the Subselar Boundary, having forsaken his entire life in the process of pursuing his quarry, chased this particular beast until he succeeded hunting it down, at the cost of his own life. The weapon he used to deal the final blow against this monstrous predator was retrieved on a lonely Selar body in the outskirts of the Castraversi, and has since been enshrined among Keepers of Relics for several years as an object of focus for courage and bravery towards insurmountable tasks.    The Harpoon is also a warning. It is a warning to all those who observe the story and history of the relic that one can lose themselves towards singular focus. It is a reminder to balance all things, even desires of vengeance, for all lack of balance can ultimately lead to death.   One might ask who was the true monster, the hunter who wouldn't be sated without the death of this Spike Lord, or the Spike Lord that drove him to the ends of the Framework to finish the hunt. One says the two can't be compared because they were the exact same imbalance in the world and it was only a matter of time before they would prove the end of the other. Some say these debates are inconsequential, but over all the Harpoon is a powerful object of focus, and some can actually attune with the Harpoon for special abilities that tell the story of the doomed Spike Hunter that used the weapon and gave his life to win the battle against the creature that took everything from him
