He's pretty scrawny from having spent so much of his time in his workshop. He has a blackened portion of scales on his left arm from a rogue explosion causing the scales to never, quite right, grow back.

Personal history
Tik was a runt, but the last surviving member of his parents' clutch. As such, he was often babied and his parents were anxious to pass on their skills and see a better life for their child. It started with lessons from his mother, her alchemy and creativity creating a spark of interest within him in creating something from nothing.
As he got older, he began to scavenge the wrecked boats on Grel's shores for treasures. He came across new languages, blueprints for strange objects, odd materials, and a variety of pieces of knowledge he couldn't even begin to comprehend. He began to study them, eventually joining Grel's tinkerers guild in order to gain access to their workshops and connections.
When Unification happened, he took it as an opportunity to strike out to the other lands within Nilrodhi to see what secrets the other clans had hidden. The way was dangerous, but he'd learned how to use a bow from his father and trusted it to keep him safe. He came across industrious kobolds from a variety of backgrounds. They had a wealth of information and techniques that would prove useful to him. After each expedition, he would return to the tinkerer's guild in Grel, hole himself up in his lab, continue his experiments, and then emerge shortly after having hit a new road block, hoping that another clan's experience could help him solve it.
When the call for explorers to the outside world came, Tik leapt at the chance. He'd recently found a new book whose depths he was only beginning to understand. He knew, in his heart, that the world would have its answers. Not to mention, all his travel these last couple of years had left a desire for adventure..

Tik has met a number of people on his travels since Unification, but he's often leaving as soon as he appears. He hasn't built up any real close relationships. Within his guild, he has a variety of colleagues and friendly acquaintances, but nobody he'd consider extremely close.

Where Tik respects careful craftsmanship and repeated experiments, Buck respects wild fancy and irresponsible risk. They have butt heads occasionally. In reality, Tik holds some level of jealously for Buck's free lifestyle, but isn't willing to admit it yet.

Stall Bitter Dagger - Mother - 38 yrs old - Was an alchemist in The Bitter Dagger Clan, but found herself ostracized for her desires to create increasingly destructive concoctions. Eventually she absconded, running away to Grel to try and share her skills there. It was there that she met Rock Sandstorm.
