Rhist Vellmar is a figure of quiet power and unsettling presence within The Esoteric Archive. Born in The Shales to a family of scholars and mystics, he has dedicated his life to the pursuit of hidden truths. In a ritual meant to enhance his insight, Rhist willingly blinded himself, replacing his eyes with swirling Gree-infused ink that allows him to perceive hidden patterns in language and reality.
Rhist believes that knowledge is not discovered but uncovered, and that forgotten truths wait beneath layers of time and deception. His presence at the Archive has reshaped its direction toward a more mystical approach, blending academia with arcane rites. Despite his aloof demeanor, he is deeply protective of those under his care—though his methods often blur the line between guidance and manipulation.
