Nilaurel Reyqen

(a.k.a. Nil)

Nilaurel Reyqen, or "Nil" to her friends, was a young and beautiful half-elf bard who earned a reputation as a great and skilled performer, as well as a successful young adventurer. Her fame was beginning to grow and her name was spoken of in high regard at the time of her disappearance.
Nilaurel grew up in the small farming community of Penzaro in the Keylands. Like her great hero, the famous bard Hubert Deepburrow Thorow, she yearned for more, and managed to enrol in the Telvanta Academy.
There she studied poetry, performance and music, and put her skills to use in a variety of successful performances in the city.
Since her early years on the farms of Penzaro, Nil was good friends with the young healer Rhodry Melwedd. They grew close over the years and eventually became romantically entangled.
They seemed happy in their relationship, referring to each other as soulmates. When Rhodry left the Keylands for Saltmarsh he asked Nilaurel to accompany him, and she readily agreed.
By all accounts she was an easy person to fall for - charming, friendly, witty and clever.
In 5786 AtD Nilaurel was slain during a battle with the False Hydra of Penzaro.

Appearance and Mannerisms

Vivacious, charming and full of laughter, Nilaurel was easy to like and hard to forget. She was short, with long red/brown hair that kept trying to curl at the ends.
She wore comfy, loose fitting blue and grey robes and always carried her prized possession with her - an unusually shaped lute of finally crafted sycamore.
Nil laughed easily and brought an easy wit to any conversation.

Notable Achievements

Famous bard, raconteur, skilled musician and accomplished adventurer, Nilaurel achieved many great deeds. During her time with Rhodry she helped to slay a sea hag, negotiated a peace with a tribe of Lizardfolk, and helped to make life for the townsfolk of Saltmarsh safer and happier.
In her days in Keymouth she was a renowned performer.
Unfortunately all of her achievements are now forgotten by everyone who ever knew her, thanks to the strange nature of her death.
