The Elder Council of Aadimhor

The Elder Council of Aadimhor is the main governmental body of the kingdom. Ruled over by the heads of the most influential clans across the land.

Structure

The Elder Council is made up of twenty-two clan heads from across the islands, of these clan heads a select few hold the title of Great Elders. Despite the distinction and that Great Elders hold a double vote they do not lead the council and are considered functionally equal to everyone else.
Council seats are held by only specific clans and tend to be hereditary. Sometimes, however, they are appointed by the clan head to another member of the clan if they are childless or their heir is unable to take up the duty. The older the clan the more likely they are to receive the distinction of Great Elder.

Culture

Each Elder of the council represents a specific area of the kingdom. It is their job to be the voice of the people and bring forward the concerns and needs of their region. In addition it is their job to put the wellbeing of the nation as a whole above all else and to try their best to uplift all the people of Aadimhor.
The Elder Council tends to stay in contact in some capacity at all times though business is officially held during summits that they all have the power to call. They work closely with each other both in and out of these meetings to ensure the strength and prosperity of the nation.

History

The Elder Council has existed in some capacity since the founding of Aadimhor. A few of the original clans make up the Great Elders still and they have guided the nation since it's birth.

Foreign Relations

The Elder Council maintains a working relationship with the other nations of the world through trade agreements that many value highly. Despite this there are tensions between them and most other nations due to the difference in religious ideology.
Their greatest ally is that of Vashierhiel, as Elder Auliea Morhun-Illucium is maried to King Cyamus Illucium. A union that has brought much prosperity to both nations despite there being a large amount of dissatisfaction from the council of Vashierhiel.

All must thrive to truely achieve greatness.
