The Threat of Microscopes

INVENTION

Invented by Stephen LeVeer, a microscope is a collection of lenses that when aligned and properly lit can allow a viewer to see the objects at a cellular level. Grinding lenses in order to magnify objects had long been in practice before the microscope, but it was LaVeer who not only mastered the process of lens making, but how to combine lenses within a device in order to effectively compound their magnifying power.

THE HORRORS OF MICROSCOPIC IMAGERY

Utilizing the microscope, Stephen LeVeer chronicled illuminating new discovered objects. In one of his early reports, LeVeer described a solid piece of wood as being full of tiny holes, nearly imperceptible to the human eye. He came to the conclusion that air passing through these holes may be enough to allow wood to float. And while some of these new findings didn't change much in every day life, it was when he turned the microscope on the human being, that the true dangers of this technology became apparent.   When looking at a drop of blood under his compound microscope, Steven LeVeer documented:
"I fear sleeping tonight. Moments ago I cut my finger on some glass and was struck by inspiration. I took some of my own blood and put it under the microscope. Perhaps I would find some secret of our creation known only to The Wrights. I put my eye to the ocular with vigor and as I brought my blood into focus I was terrified by what I saw. It is hard to describe because recalling the imagery taxes my very soul, but it appeared as though my blood, the very life force that pumps through my body is filled with infinitesimally small worms. Wrights give me strength they're alive, wriggling about!"
As LeVeer continued studying he fell deeper and deeper into despair. Describing tendrils and filaments throughout our musculature. He shared his research with a Leveler named Heaton, who illicitly procured more samples for LeVeer to study. Before long, both were caught up in the horrors of microscopic imagery.

SEIZURE BY THE STRUCTURALIST CHURCH

Rumors about Stephen LeVeer and Leveler Heaton began to swell and eventually the church elders felt it was time to intervene. A group was sent to seize LeVeer and his equipment. What they found has only been whispered about in secrecy.
"When we opened the door the smell nearly flattened us. I wish it had me, to be honest. I wish I'd passed out from the smell instead of being witness to the vile wickedness of LeVeer's study. Rotted animal parts, some were human, mind you, in piles around the room. He told us later they were sorted by 'recency.' But even that wasn't enough to give me nightmares. It was what they were doing.   LeVeer was up on a table with his pants off. His leg was under this big column that got real narrow at the bottom. Leveler Heaton, I guess was looking through this eyepiece. At first I didn't get it, but then I saw that LeVeer's skin, up in his thigh, was ....peeled back. Like flaps on a tent, and you could see the bits underneath the flesh. And when we opened the door and saw all this he just sat up, looked over his shoulder, and smiled at us. He smiled! Invited us to take a gander!   That's what wakes me up in a cold sweat. The smile on his damned face."   -Anonymous
The church seized Stephen LeVeer's property and destroyed his equipment. Some diaries remain but are kept under lock and key at an undisclosed location. LeVeer's home was demolished and local workers were hired to build a new school for children where it stood.   What happened to Stephen LeVeer and Leveler Heaton are known only to the Framer's of the Structuralist Church.   Structuralist doctrine prohibits the use of microscopes to this day.
