Sanas'hu (Sanas-hu)
Sanas'hu is Korsan-Sildoran city on Mirad, founded in 1238 AF as a colony under the Rokran Empire. The city was founded in tandem by Eridans from the city of Korsumeya/New Korsus and Sildors from Raraj and Yikat, and posesses an eclectic mix of Korsan and colonial Sildoran architecture. the city, much like Mirad after The Fall, exists in a kind of early industrial setting, posessing only the barest of steam-powered machinery. Sanashu became a symbol in the post-fall centuries of Eridan-Sildor cooperation, and was where numerous treaties between the Sildor and Eridan nations were signed, and even where the Miradian Conventions (a kind of annual United Nations-style forum) was held starting in 3267.
Demographics
60% Armaran (55% Eburian/Setuvan, 5% Asharian) 30% Sildor (25% Tamulite, 5% Metuvash), 5% Kuvanu, 2% mixed species, 3% others
Districts
Lukon Island is home to most of the old city and the historic center of the city. The Lakshun District on the western banks of the Sanas form the so-called new city, the modern center of the city. To the northwest of the Lakshun District is the Aruka District, a district known for its nearly entirely Sildor population, having at multiple points in history been used to segregate the city's Sildor population, and later also the city's Kuvanu population.
History
Sanas'hu was founded by the Kalkan Empire in 1238, as one of the first Sildor colonies on Mirad. The city's name derives from its position on the river Sanas, named after the nearby Zanaza tribe. The city first formed on Lukon Island, in the middle of the river, as a strategic defensive position. As Rokra's colonies on the moon began to grow however, Sanas'hu began to spill out onto the mainland, with the city expanding to the east and west. With the fall of the Kalkan Empire, Sanas'hu briefly became the capital of the Kingdom of Hanor until being conquered by the Korsan Republic in 1571. Though it only had a population of around 30,000 at this time-- almost all Sildor-- Sanas'hu was of great interest to Korsus, who significantly expanded the city on the western banks of the Sanas, as well as constructing a vast series of pedestrian boulevards throughout the city. As such, Armaran Korsans began to push the Sildor Tamulites out of the prestigious old city and into the outskirts of the city.
Tensions began to grow between the Sildor and Armaran inhabitants of the city, eventually coming to a boiling point with the Species Riots of 1841, where Tamulite extremists set fire to the Palace of Inraku, an ancient Kalkan structure that now housed Korsan nobility. Following this, strict draconian laws were enacted, forbidding Sildors from Lukon Island and forcing them to live in the Aruka District as an attempt to keep their population low. This would be undone a decade later, but was seen as an indicator of how bad relations between two of the three species inhabiting the city had gotten.

Architecture
Sanashu's architecture is an eclectic mix of Eburian and ancient Korsan architecture alongside Sildoran colonial architecture found elsewhere on Mirad, with individual buildings often blending both elements. While Korsan architecture is heavily ornamental and grandiose, Sildoran architecture is much more practical and functional, with comparatively less in the way of decoration (though by no means spartan). Sildoran architecture on Mirad however differs significantly from what had arisen on Mishru, due to the vastly different climates of the two worlds, with Miradian architecture much more suited to the moon's warm, wet rainforests than Mishru's hot, dry deserts.
Geography
Sanashu is located along the coast, shielded on the other three sides by a set of modest hills, which often have houses and buildings dug into them.
