Ridans
The Ridans (Homo rida) are a species of Eridan from a region in southwestern Armara known as Rida. The first early inhabitants of the regions of Rida and Kesira, the Ridans have existed as a species for more than 800,000 years, however were largely pushed back to the region of Rida by Armaran migrations. In modern times Ridans maintain a collective culture and technology on par with the other races of Eridus, separated into different small kingdoms.
Basic Information
Biological Traits
Ridans tend to be shorter and stockier than other Eridans, with white body hair to insulation and camouflage.
Ecology and Habitats
Ridans have largely adapted to live and thrive in the cold, mountainous environments of Rida, often forming societies within vast cave systems for protection from the cold and outside invaders.
Dietary Needs and Habits
Ridans have the ability to synthesize Vitamin C, allowing them to sustain themselves on a largely meat-based diet, though they have still developed agriculture for different native plant species.
Civilization and Culture
Major Organizations
The Ridans divide themselves into twelve small kingdoms: Hej, T!uvak, Qanaaqo, Riaktu, Hevaz, Suk'toti, Rik'ish, Jevoran, Khurtum, Jhuvesh, Hanaqo, and Privitch.
Common Dress Code
Ridans often wear a different set of clothes depending on whether they'll be inside or outside one of their cave systems, with outside clothes being thick and burly cloaks and overcoats insulated with a tough plant fiber, protecting them from both the elements and arrows in the event of an attack.
