Lazarus Academy Organization in The Anima Universe | World Anvil

Lazarus Academy

Lazarus Academy is one of the five academies created by Kira Grace in 2045 in order to train the next generation of Black Roses. The school is designed to train Noctis and Sub-Humans, so while there isn't a rule against humans attending the academy it is highly discouraged.

Structure

Headmasters

The Head of the Academies as the highest ranking authority within them lead and manage the overall operations of the Academy. They are responsible for creating and maintaining a productive and organized learning environment for Noctis students and overseeing the day-to-day administration, scheduling, and coordination of activities, ensuring that the academy's resources are used effectively. They recruit and manage qualified teaching and administrative staff overseeing performance evaluations, professional development, ensuring a positive and collaborative work environment.   They collaborate with the teaching staff to design and refine the curriculum that covers the wide range of subjects making sure that the training provided at the academy is rigorous, effective, and comprehensive as well as overseeing combat training, ethics education, and practical skills development to prepare Noctis students for their roles as demon hunters.. They personally review applications from potential students who wish to join the academy and determine the eligibility of applicants and award scholarships to those who excel in the Demon Hunter tests. Headmasters/ headmistresses maintain an open-door policy to their students, address any concerns they may have and provide mentorship to the Noctis students, fostering their personal and professional growth.   As the face of the academies they represent the organization at events, parties, fundraisers, and interviews. Engaging with the public and the Noctis community to promote the organization’s mission and values. They play an active role in their local communities building positive trusting relationships with both Noctis and humans. They encourage their students to participate in community service, reflecting the organization's commitment to making a positive impact.

Age Group Sectors

Lazarus Academy is an organization that allows for anyone from the ages of 14-22 to attend the academy. Due to this Lazarus has two age group sectors: High School and College. These sectors have separate schedules as on top of their demon hunter education High School age students also have a more general curriculum including subjects like mathematics, literature, and science. This is so that high school age students don’t have to sacrifice their formal education to attend the academy. It is important to note that both the high school and college sector attend the same demon hunter classes often with the same instructors. This is to ensure that all demon hunters going into the field have the same standard training.   Lazarus Academy puts its students into teams of four and these teams are often composed of both High School and College students, fostering mentorship and collaboration. This mix creates a unique learning environment where experiences are shared across age groups. If a student enrolls into the academy at age 17 then they will be placed into the High School Sector however the following year they will be placed into the college sector if they have received their high school diploma. This transfer is done every time someone ages out of the high school sector or receives their high school diploma earlier than expected. Lazarus is a four year institution and therefore each year of both sectors have at least two counselors. Counselors provide guidance, support, and assistance to students throughout their four-year journey at Lazarus Academy.

The Departments

Lazarus Academy has six educational departments, not including the general curriculum of the high school sector; the Department of Demonology and Supernatural Studies, the Combat Training and Tactics Department, the Department of Demonic Spiritual Abilities, the Science and Research Department, the Department of History and Cultural Studies, and the Elective Courses Department.

Culture

The Demon Hunter Academies are seen by the majority of the public as prestigious schools that produce elite warriors that protect them from the evil and dangerous demons. Which means that those who attend one of the five academies tend to think of themselves highly when around fellow Noctis and Sub-Humans. Although because of the tension between Humans and Noctis especially those who are Members of The Black Roses and are demon hunters in particular. People who attend these academies will often not even mention that fact about themselves to humans they met. Each Academy has a different belief and atmosphere from each other with their Headmasters/Headmistresses exemplifying these traits.

Public Agenda

Lazarus Academy's goal as a school tasked with training future Demon hunters is for all students to graduate with top marks and to excel in their fields whether they are a Front line Demon Hunter or one tasked with research and study.

Orientation Week

Orientation week at Lazarus Academy is an essential and exciting period designed to help new students acclimate to the academy's unique environment, understand its culture, and prepare for the challenges of becoming a Demon Hunter. Here's an overview of what orientation week is typically like:   Welcome and Registration: Students arrive at Lazarus Academy and go through the registration process, where they receive essential information, schedules, and identification materials.   Ice Breaking Activities: Orientation week kicks off with ice breaking activities and games to help students get to know each other and build bonds. These activities aim to create a sense of camaraderie among students, who will eventually form teams with their peers.   Introduction to Lazarus Academy: New students attend orientation sessions that provide an overview of the academy's history, mission, and values. They also learn about the role of Demon Hunters in protecting humanity from supernatural threats.   Academic Information: Students receive information about their academic curriculum, courses, and expectations. They learn about the importance of subjects such as demonology, combat training, and supernatural threats awareness.   Team Formation: One of the central aspects of orientation week is the formation of teams. Students are assigned teammates with whom they will work closely throughout their time at Lazarus Academy. Team assignments are carefully made based on various factors, including skills, personalities, and compatibility.   Skill Assessments: Students may undergo initial skill assessments to determine their proficiency in various areas, including combat, demonology, and supernatural abilities (DSAs). These assessments help instructors understand the students' strengths and weaknesses.   Workshops and Training: Orientation week includes introductory workshops and training sessions, such as basic combat techniques, demonology fundamentals, and DSA awareness. Students receive guidance on how to unlock and control their Demonic Spiritual Abilities (DSAs).   Team-Building Exercises: To foster teamwork and cooperation, students participate in team-building exercises and challenges. These activities encourage students to communicate effectively, strategize, and solve problems together.   Campus Tours: Students explore the Lazarus Academy campus, including the academic buildings, training facilities, dormitories, and any other important areas. They become familiar with the layout of the academy.   Mentorship and Guidance: New students are paired with mentors or older students who provide guidance and support during orientation week. Mentors help newcomers navigate the academy and answer questions.   Orientation Ceremony: The week usually concludes with a formal orientation ceremony or gathering, where students take an oath as future Demon Hunters. They pledge to uphold the academy's values and mission in protecting humanity.   Transition to Permanent Dorms: As mentioned earlier, towards the end of orientation week, students are assigned to their permanent dorm rooms, where they will live with their teammates. This marks the official beginning of their journey as members of Lazarus Academy and as potential Demon Hunters.

Uniform

Girls

The cornerstone of the girls' uniform is a meticulously tailored black blazer, accentuated by elegant green detailing along the pockets, end of the sleeves and the hem of the jacket. On the breast pocket is the Lazarus school, a white coffin with black roses along the side. Beneath the blazer, students wear a crisp white dress shirt. Girls can choose to wear a black pleated skirt adorned with two white lines along the bottom. A black tie, elegantly knotted, completes the formal look. Although not compulsory, many students choose to personalize their uniforms with distinct accessories. These accessories, often selected to express their unique identities, add a layer of individuality to the standard uniform.

Boys

Boys don a black blazer, mirroring the girls' uniform, with the same green detailing along the pockets, end of the sleeves and the hem of the jacket. On the breast pocket is the Lazarus school, a white coffin with black roses along the side. Like their female counterparts, male students wear a white dress shirt. A black tie and black dress pants completes the uniform. Just as with the girls' uniform, boys have the option to incorporate accessories that reflect their individuality. These additions allow students to infuse their unique personalities into the standard uniform.
