Parahumanism

'Parahumanism' refers to any sort of humanity branching off from the base genetic stock. One or more of these functions as an "Unusual Background" Advantage for Advantages and Disadvantages. It also provides the 'excuse' for topping the normal human limit of 20 on any Attribute.

Cybernetics

Merging of man and technology, Cybernetics depends on a Cyber Nexus brain implant to coordinate the artificial parts with the nervous system, and require surgeries overseen by someone with at least a modicum of medical training and a (preferably sterile) medical facility. Robotics platforms, by contrast, use basically the same systems as parahuman cyborgs, but they're wired for control by a Shackled AI, Unshackled AI, or Synthetic Intelligence.

Mutations

Mutations in humanity were largely a product of Gobivirus Mutagenicus, as well as isolation cycles among planets and the enormous population of Human Space (every birth rolls the dice on the miniscule chance of a novel mutation, but humans roll the dice quite a bit!). Either way, 'Mutations' are distinct from Bioronics in that one is born with Mutations.

Bioronics -

Bioronics is a technology that involves the creation of 'organoids,' lumps of flesh that are independently alive, but can be grafted into a larger organism (mostly a human.) They can be used to trigger changes, functioning as artificial glands to mimic Mutations or the more extreme bodymod packages enjoyed by the Genefreak subculture.
