Aristocrat
"The Aristocracy is descended mainly from the commandos who supported Sebastian Frost. When it came time to staff up the government, the few comrades who had survived with him were the obvious choice for experts that he could trust. The meritocracy isn't hereditary, but those initial resource streams certainly are, and the leisure set has much more time to spend becoming experts in their field."
Descended From Greatness
The oldest aristocratic families date from the Cozine Disaster and its immediate fallout. Others from Technocrats who either advanced the human situation in peacetime or distinguished themselves during war. Either way, an Aristocrat is benefitting less from their own talents or abilities and more from those of their ancestors. Most Aristocrats embrace the rewards they've inherited, though plenty of them feel the need to prove themselves as worthy as their forebears.
Fast Horses Don't Always Make Fast Horses
While there are some genuinely heroic and impressive Aristocrats, most of them are mediocre at best. Their relative lack of challenges growing up and the decent potential that their ancestors were simply lucky means that whatever eugenics nonsense led to their position of wealth and privilege likely has them standing outside the PSC's cultivated meritocracy. As such, even those of merit tend to be treated below their status by the working class or lower, though typically not to their face if they hold rank or wealth.
Hereditary Wealth
Aristocrats aren't always wealthy, but at some point in their family history their ancestors were. In fact, an Aristocrat who has a Wealth score of less than Comfortable (10 points) and no Independent Income is considered "Disgraced," a -5 point Social Stigma that makes you a source of mockery. It's one thing to have inherited all of your wealth and privilege, it's another thing to have failed anyway!
The Template provided represents a lower-end debutante that is adventuring to make a name for themselves or perhaps attempting to recover their resources after some bad investments. They've had time for the more noble 'combat arts' like fencing and pistol dueling, but having spent much of their life up to this point on frivolities like table manners and hobbies.
