The Squares, once made, are usually placed in a tower-like structure and sprinkled again friom the top with sugar and crystal powder to ensure they really shine. This formation really works to show off the artistry of the internal colorpallet and the glittery perfection of it's coating.   These squares are typically the center piece of any desert table and they are often ordamented with either berries or harley rose petals.

    Instructions

The first step is to set up the workspace. To make Crysnaline Squares you need several large metal pots, Embers, at least 4 flat pans, and metal bowls.   One pot is placed over the fire. 4 cups of Sugar and 1 cup of water are mixed together over heat till a syrup is made. In a Second Pot, the cornstarch, lemon juice, and cream of Tartar are mixed together swiftly till it makes a thick white paste. When mixing, it's important to make sure there are no clumps or lumps.   When the syryp reaches a managle temperature, it is slowly poured and mixed into the cornstartch paste, being extra careful to make sure, once again, that there are no lumps. the resulting bubbling mix should resemble the color of butterscotch.   Once thouroughly mixed, the syrup should be poured into bowls. Then, the desired flavoring is added, such as Toach juice or Harley Rose dyes and Water. Each bowl should be a different, vibrant color and flavors. The bowls are poured out into lined flat pans and put in a cooled area to harden.
After hardening, the sheets should ahve a gummy, gelatanous feel. Each layer should then be layered on top of each other with a thin layer of Gold Flaking. once each layer has set, the true construction begins. Crysnaline Squares are about their presentation just as much as they are their taste. these layers of sugary "meat" should be cut, layered, rolled, and manipulated into beautiful, kalidescopic patters. each layer is separated by another gold plate.   When satisfied, the blcok is split up into even cubes and twice coated in a powdered sugar crushed aw crystal mix.
