The Black Forge
"In the early days of Innerith, the majority of the laborers of the city were under the employ of the Black Forge. They collected ore, coal, ran the bellows, and hauled away ash and slag. It was flithy, back breaking work, but a neccesary struggle. This forge of blackened stone, when treated with the orders from the throne, yielded the greatest works our world has ever known. Spears that wield the power of light, hammers that bring the wielder might, and shields that hold back the Eldur's bite."
- Father Ames
The Black Forge is a grand structure located on the western side of the Ring of Industry. It stands 60' tall, and is made of a similar material to the rings of the city. It is built like a gothic cathedral, with a tower protruding from its center, and two black steel smoke stacks located at the rear of the building decorated with golden statues of ancient warriors. Either side of the exterior protrude converyor belts that lead to the lifts, allowing material to be brought up directly from the mines. The interior of the forge features a shop, feasting hall, workers' quarters, the main forge hall, and several utility rooms.
The forge is located in the back of the hall; It features a large batch furnace, with three pit furnaces surrounding it. The largest pit furnace, which is located on the street facing side, had a large crucible that rests above it, while the two pit furnaces on the side are open aside from their hoods. The batch furnace, known as the Black Room, is a 20' by 20' room with a large steel door on the front. In the center of the room is a large fountain with grooves that lead to seven pits equally spaced around it.
The store front of The Black Forge is stocked with all mundane smithy goods, fine jewelry, and all magic items up to and including rare magic items. In addition, they sell Masterwork weapons and armor, which function like +1 magic weapons and armors, but lack the magical benefits.
