The Years of Protest was a 9 year period of civil unrest and disruption across the Lordanian Cluster. It began as the First Lordanian Republic's economy began to decline in 5 BC and continued until forceful suppression and hard negotiations brought the Years of Protest to a close in 4 PC. However, this is strongly recognised as a temporary truce between protestors and the government, which would explode again during the Great Economic Depression.   The Pinascimate Penal Authority was founded by Eckhart Zannholt and various other enthusiastic leaders from Lordania as a means of handling overcrowded prisons and an increasing number of convicts. During the Years of Protest, thousands of people were shipped to Pinascimate, with many more being brought over in the years after.
