First Lordanian Republic
The First Lordanian Republic was the interstellar government of the Lordanian Cluster from 25 BC to 30 PC, overseen by the Lordanian Senate and presided over by the Consulate. It was founded by the five planets, Lordania, Yuklid V, Cinu, Nouveaulyon, and Tyannani. It grew to include four other worlds, Lorriman, Indus, Visser, and Tersten.
In the beginning, the Republic helped to unify the people of the Cluster, who began collectively referring to themselves as Lordanian. However, it soon came to be dominated its beginnings by Upper Lordanians, the rich and powerful of the urban world Lordania. The Upper Lordanians sought economic dominance over the other worlds. The system was designed so that all money would flow to Lordania. During the Years of Protest, instead of focus on reform, it chose to create the Pinascimate Penal Authority, and simply move its problem to the frontier. The Great Economic Depression, which began in 12 PC with the passing of the Dynamic Economics Act, caused the complete collapse of the Cinuan government. On Tersten, it directly led to the collapse of the Penal Authority and the brief Age of Nations, where states like the Pinascimate Republic and the República de Nevada competed economically and politically. Many states arose during this period, with many simply swearing loyalty to the greater First Lordanian Republic in name only. Due to the ensuing economic crisis, the Republic was unable to do anything about these states. The Crisis only became worse with the First Lordanian Republic Election of 2260, in which the Unitarian Party were granted the Consulate. They proceeded to enforce their fascist and ultra-nationalist views upon the Republic, including creating many puppet regimes for the various planets in the cluster, the Tersten State included. In the end, the First Lordanian Republic was dissolved by a simple act, replacing it with the People's Republic of Lordania.
Those who survived the ensuing purges would go underground, either in hiding on their respective planets, or into deep space, where they would form the interplanetary resistance known as the Brotherhood.
