The feral Blood-Sons

Culture

Common Customs, traditions and rituals

The common method of killing prey in the Vyrkol Vampyre culture is burying alive after capture. As they have smaller bodies than other Vampyres and require less feeding, Vyrkol will instead keep their meat safe and hidden from other predators in the ground for later use.   Vyrkol Vampyres are commonly obsessed with an unnatural sense of revenge and hatred, usually aimed towards any other humanoid race. It is believed that the Vyrkol ethnicity was the first of the Vampyres developed in High Emlyn and then cast out into the mountains that surround the fortress for being too feral or animalistic, which could explain why Vyrkol have a natural hatred for humans even if they have never seen one before.

Common Myths and Legends

Vyrkol Vampyres have genetic abilities and characteristics unique to other ethnicities.
  • Vyrkol bloodlines can transform their bodies into a cloud of mist, much like the Upir bloodlines, which can aid in secrecy and swift travel.
  • Vyrkol Vampyres have elongated fingers and toes with sharp jagged claws for nails which aid in their natural ability to climb the rocky passages they usually call home. Some stories suggest that a Vyrkol Vampire can even hang on to sheer surfaces.
  • Vyrkol Vampyres have hollow bones much like avian creatures. While this makes the Vampyre especially weak or brittle compared to other ethnicities, it also allows them to be quicker and more agile, aiding their scrambling across rocks.

Major organizations

The Vyrkal ethnicity is the major Vampyres of the Back of Terralba which is a mountain range that spans across Elgerlia. While there are less Vyrkal in the world than other ethnicities, travellers on the mountain passes need to be wary of running into one of the semi-nomadic Vyrkal tribes.
